Hello I have an automatic 1975 2002 with auto choke. I think I need a new fuel shut off solenoid, can any one help me out with a part number, supplier or photo. Also how do you remove it? it in a tight space, can it be removed without taking off the carb?
The problem is the car has a habit of cutting out at junctions when I got to pull away, as it has an automatic transmission, so I can't drop the clutch and give it some gas. I was told it could be a bad diaphragm in the carb but I checked that and it looked good.
Also on a long journey it can overrun when I turn off the ignition.
Any thoughts please?
Thanks
Jason

Hi - I'm struggling with my electrics, does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 1975 2002 auto UK/EURO spec - the HAYNES workshop manual doesn't have my model with the twin fuse set up with negative earth. Thanks

I have some new 6x15 ET35 BBS wheels to put on my 1975 2002 (non ti) - what size tyres do you suggest, my e10 is totally standard, not lowered. Would 195/50x15 be right, and would the rolling circumference be the same?
I really don't want to roll my arches - thank you for your time.

mmm Hi Simeon, the only light on the was the red 'L' light, no other. I have never seen the oil pressure orange (O) light come on?
-
Thank you Jake, appreciate it.
My key isn't a genuine BMW key if that makes any difference. Can you normally enter the key at FAHRT position?
I guess if the ignition isn't switching off probably (0) then my 'L' light remaining on is the cause of the battery drain.

Thank you Jake - No the ignition barrel will not turn to the (0) position. I can only enter and remove the key when the slot is pointing to FAHRT. I can't get it to turn further to the left anti-clockwise.
If the key slot was an hour hand on a clock it would be pointing to 2 o'clock.
The (0) engraving is pointing to just above 9 o'clock.

Hi
The 'L' warning light remains on after the engine is switch off and the ignition key removed. The light goes out if the car is running. It is a 1975 2002 auto.
The light remained on over night and flattened the battery.
With the key removed the 'key slot' is pointing to 'FAHRT' not '0' is this right?
I have only had the car three weeks so I'm learning on the job.
Thank you.
