    thanks ira! your ppi really gave me a lot more insight because i trust you are a good sportsman in this game and really hooked me up with a good inspection. i will be viewing the car on thursday i believe keep you guys updated!

    So how will I able to really check the rust for being more on the benign side? I'm going to check out the car Thursday and will jack it up to see under the car as well. Ira did a ppi already and said its not a "rust bucket" I believe he states the engine being out of the car in the original ad. He told me it had matching numbers. He said engine is ready to drop in just needs a clutch. Comes with everything else according to him. Any thoughts how much I might pay for this car.     Which out of the two I posted do u suppose to be a better buy. I'm willing to work on the one without motor in. Only if everything checks out. I'm not sure if it's really rebuilt and/or rust is cancerous and spread underneath the paint.     there doesnt appear to be any smoke coming out of the exhaust he just sent me an 11 sec clip of the car idling.

    dude said battery tray is rusted but the strut towers and floor pans are all good ... opinions anyone?? what else should be a major spot for structural rust?

    gah so many mixed opinions .. i cant find any 2002 in norcal right now and this one might be a good deal for 3500. i believe hes willing to negotiate the price if he ships it out here. can u guys remind me again what are the most important things i need cleared up if im going to not be able to see the car in person or on facetime... does running a carfax help? this guy doesnt really have maintenece records he told me so im not sure. my main concern is still rust i dont mind working on this car i have a dd already that runs just fine. thanks again u guys for all ur help even tho it makes it really hard to decide if i want to buy it still haha

    thanks for ur responses guys i am very aware of rust.. and am currently waiting on further detailed pics and information about the car. some guy from eastbay messaged me yesterday on this forum too and told me he had a 74 02 as well and it would be a better deal but i havent got any pics or nothing imparticular for that one yet... so just still waiting on these two guys hopefully one works out.. im not going to buy that manual right now unless i can find it in stores. so mainly just rust that isnt only on the surface ... how could i tell. i guess ill post pictures up here if these two sellers ever send me any haha. thanks for ur help i greatly appreciate it guys also i wil not be able to see the car in montana in person nd i have no idea what a PPI to be honest haha ..
