  1. here's mine. Not the best angle but you can get the idea. You don't have the wood cluster to try and match which is nice, matching the gauge cluster was difficult. Knob was easy to match since I made it from scratch and chose the exact stain.

  2. take a look at my car in the stance thread. The Ronal's are 15x7.5 et25 (which is about 5.25' backspace). To me, the 15's are the perfect size for this car (again, everyone has their opinion on this) These hit my coilovers (not the brakes you need to worry about as I have the big brake kit too) so I needed 15mm spacers up front, and 12mm in the rear to clear the suspension. I do have flares, so it buys me a little more room than a non-flared car.

There are several online calculators that are great to determine offset and backspacing (below are a few). That paired with a straight edge and a tape measure you will find wheels/tires that fit the first time and not have to worry about returns or re-buying different parts in different sizes. Measure twice, buy once!

  3. my 2 different set ups, just sold the 16's and now on 15's (until i get sick of them!)

-- 1st pic is BBS RS 16x8 (2 inch slant lips) , 205/45's Dunlop Direzza all around (was running spacers but don't know the sizes of them off hand)

-- 2nd pic is Ronal LS 15x7.5 , 205/50's Kumho Ecsta all around (also running spacers to clear brakes and strut tower - don't know spacer sizes but can look if anyone needs to know)

None at all.  The fan sucks air and is usually only needed for slower speeds or congestion.  I am sure the fan runs while going down the highway, but not sure it does much as the airflow is great.  You should not have any issues.  I bought the largest fan I could fit that came with a thermoswitch from eBay and has worked perfectly.

I can confirm this as well... I have the same set up. I only hear the fan come on if I am sitting at a traffic light too long. I have a 12' spal pusher fan, doesn't cover the whole radiator. I wired mine to the stock e30 radiator therm switch... No issues

    Dave,

    Great shot of the car!

I would sure love to see a side shot of your beautiful car...did you roll the front fender?

Thank you sir! Yesterday was the maiden voyage for her. Just finished a 4 year restoration on it after I purchased it from someone who left it in a barn for 28 years. Will post more photos when I get some, its in the garage right now since we are getting more snow today (even though it was 50 degrees yesterday!)

Fenders are custom rabbit flares that are rolled as well to get max clearance with wider wheels. (16x8 front, 16x8.5 rear)

  7. Since this forum has helped me immensely in the restoration of my 02 (yet to be finished, but close) I always try to give back when I can. Here are some pics of my progress with the rabbit flares. From mock up stage, to welded, primed and painted. I know its not for the purists, but I liked the idea of being able to get some wider rubber in the wheel wells!

    Hello ,

I would like to be consider if things does not  work out with the buyer with the  deposit. I have a 1975 BMW 2002 that I would like to do a conversion to 5 speed. I 'm assuming if given an opportunity to purchase this engine and tranny , all I would need is a shorten drive shaft. Do you have a shorten drive shaft from the same set up. If so ,I would be interested in buying the drive shaft as well. I presently have a 1983 BMW 320I parts car with tranny that I have not yet started to take apart with the main part being the 5 speed transmission. Additionally, I resides in Queens , New York , which I believe is not too far from Bristol , CT. Please note accordingly.

    Thanks

I will let you know, thanks! ... Also, I will look to see if I still have the driveshaft and let you know. Wont be until next weekend as I am traveling for work.
