Barn find followed by 4 year full restoration. Instagram = @my_2002_project
  4. here's mine. Not the best angle but you can get the idea. You don't have the wood cluster to try and match which is nice, matching the gauge cluster was difficult. Knob was easy to match since I made it from scratch and chose the exact stain.
  5. take a look at my car in the stance thread. The Ronal's are 15x7.5 et25 (which is about 5.25' backspace). To me, the 15's are the perfect size for this car (again, everyone has their opinion on this) These hit my coilovers (not the brakes you need to worry about as I have the big brake kit too) so I needed 15mm spacers up front, and 12mm in the rear to clear the suspension. I do have flares, so it buys me a little more room than a non-flared car. There are several online calculators that are great to determine offset and backspacing (below are a few). That paired with a straight edge and a tape measure you will find wheels/tires that fit the first time and not have to worry about returns or re-buying different parts in different sizes. Measure twice, buy once! Offset / backspace calculator: http://www.gtsparkplugs.com/Offset-to-Backspace.html Tire size calculator: https://tiresize.com/calculator/
  6. my 2 different set ups, just sold the 16's and now on 15's (until i get sick of them!) -- Suspension - Ground Control Coilovers -- 1st pic is BBS RS 16x8 (2 inch slant lips) , 205/45's Dunlop Direzza all around (was running spacers but don't know the sizes of them off hand) -- 2nd pic is Ronal LS 15x7.5 , 205/50's Kumho Ecsta all around (also running spacers to clear brakes and strut tower - don't know spacer sizes but can look if anyone needs to know)
  7. I can confirm this as well... I have the same set up. I only hear the fan come on if I am sitting at a traffic light too long. I have a 12' spal pusher fan, doesn't cover the whole radiator. I wired mine to the stock e30 radiator therm switch... No issues
  8. I kept it simple, but added cup holders for coffee on those cold morning cruises
  9. I am answering PM's in the order I receive them. Antenna and battery corner trim piece sold.
  10. I have some misc parts for sale. Reasonable offers accepted. Seat belt trim (triangles) battery corner trim -- SOLD trans bracket dome light Throttle rod antenna -- SOLD stock turns drivers side mirror fuel sending unit choke cable VDO washer reservoir
  11. Thank you sir! Yesterday was the maiden voyage for her. Just finished a 4 year restoration on it after I purchased it from someone who left it in a barn for 28 years. Will post more photos when I get some, its in the garage right now since we are getting more snow today (even though it was 50 degrees yesterday!) Fenders are custom rabbit flares that are rolled as well to get max clearance with wider wheels. (16x8 front, 16x8.5 rear)
  12. How do you get the info out of the vin? You mentioned you emailed Bmw.... I thought there was a site somewhere but can’t remember
  13. Since this forum has helped me immensely in the restoration of my 02 (yet to be finished, but close) I always try to give back when I can. Here are some pics of my progress with the rabbit flares. From mock up stage, to welded, primed and painted. I know its not for the purists, but I liked the idea of being able to get some wider rubber in the wheel wells!
  14. any insight on this? I am looking for help wiring the fuel pump and sending unit too...
  15. Anyone in the CT area that has done this swap? Getting ready to attempt it and would love to take a look at one in person and get some small pointers before I dive in. Thanks in advance!
  16. Awesome! Thanks so much, just skimmed your blog and found a bunch of other great info too! - D
  17. So Kieths write up was a huge help, as well as all the comments here. At the end of that post, he was about to show the headliner install but I don't see it was ever written up. Does anyone know how the headliner material attaches to the sunroof panel itself? Pictures would be great
  18. I agree... I did a TON of metal work on mine , most of the car is 18 or 20 gauge, get a sheet of each
  19. Anyone buy one of these headliners off eBay? http://www.ebay.com/itm/162451720271?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT most posts I have read have been replacement OEM... did oem come in any other color other than white? Where can the original reproductions be sourced.. still blunt?
  20. Motor and tranny are both under deposit. I will come back to each of you (in order) if the deal falls through.
  21. I will let you know, thanks! ... Also, I will look to see if I still have the driveshaft and let you know. Wont be until next weekend as I am traveling for work.
