  1. I bought this 02 from a close friend that owns a BMW repair/restore shop. I would like to get $1,000.00 out of it which is exactly what I have in it. I had plans to restore it but got way to involved with restoring a E30 IX. The car does not run however the motor is not seized up. The car has two new OEM front fenders. It is free of any major rust in the rust prone places. It is an excellent restore candidate for someone with the money and the time. I have more pictures I can provide if requested. For some reason it will not let me post them all here. The car is located in Broadway, VA at E&E Restorations. http://www.eandebmwservice.com/ Thanks, Chris
  2. Randy, I did! 11 hours to get both of them in. The front went smooth using a bearing press kit but the back was a different story. Had to resort back to using a sledge-o-matic and a race. I need to get over that way to check out the fleet. I am leaving town this weekend for Pitt. I am going to watch the Steelers/Pats game.
  3. Randy, I will keep it in mind. I may put both rightside wheel bearings and an e brake cable in the ix Saturday. If I can get motivated. I would rather get kicked in the balls then do wheel bearings!!
  4. Pat, I would have been glad to but it was taken to the scrap yard before I could get back down there.
  5. PatAllen, The tranny is no good. She is going to the scrap yard.
  6. They know their stuff thats for sure! I learned a lot working with them. Like I said it's John's car and he won't budge on the price and he told me I could have any good 02 parts found in his graveyard for free. His dad said the bonnet is worth 1,000 alone. I remember when I would unpackage oem fenders that were selling for $65!! The good old days I would like to see the fleet sometime for sure!
  7. Hey Randy, I used to work at E&E with John http://www.eandebmwservice.com/ . I started when they were still in Arkton and left for college shortly after he moved to his first location in Harrisonburg. I live in Timberville. My love affair started with a 1979 320i in the early 90's. I moved on to an E30 325i and 325ix which I am currently restoring and my baby an E90 330i six speed. The 02 I am looking at actually belongs to John.
  8. You guys both bring up well taken points for sure. I am on a limited budget like a lot of folks are these days. I don't have 7K-15K to drop on a complete restore. I understand TonyB's point, but I plan on doing over a couple of years. My biggest concern of the jump street would be getting the patch panels put in and a new carpet set. I wanna drive it and enjoy it! I am not looking to win any car shows anytime soon anyway. I used to work at an Indi BMW garage that made a name for themselves restoring 02's and coupes back in the 80's when I was growing up. So I have a graveyard of 02 parts to dig through and enjoy tinkering around with them. I just want to make sure I am not paying too much for the car as it sets rite now.
  9. I have always wanted a 2002 and I found one for sale local. The asking price is 1,000. The car is free of major rust in the rust prone areas. It will need all new interior (carpet set, head liner, rear board and door panels one day), paint and some body work. The car has had two new OEM fenders put on and will be supplied with patch panels where needed. He is also throwing in a two barrel OEM intake and black seats The owner was going to do a restore but fell on hard times. The car has never been wrecked and was last on the road in 2003. Is is worth 1,000? This is my first 02 undertaking so I just want to make a sound move. Thanks, Chris
