  1. because I'm resoring my car back to new. this is how it looked before its true, the parts car isn't to bad. but I'm going to use the front end to fix the other one i have.. that is in.. or was in perfect condition. so it's going to a good cause. I'm pretty good at making something look better than it is. the parts car's shock towers are rusted through, the C pillar on the passenger side is majorly rusted. and so is the rear driver fender. the car doesn't run, though i am going to see if i can get it going.
  2. What are these worth? Will be parting out 72 2002 soon. check my thread on project cars for details
  3. For sure dude, its got some mechanical upgrades, new carbo, header, exhaust system. which is cool. there is some major stuctural rust in the passenger C tower, and both rear shock towers are shot. but the floor is solid, and the trim is great! yeah! for sure, i can't wait to get my car back. its my only car, and everyday driver! so i miss it quite alot
  4. Got a parts car today that is actually a decent 2002. its a 72. nothing to fancy but i will be kinda swapping some stuff. parting out the rest heres my picasa album http://picasaweb.google.com/grayboy/Besties#

  7. The parts car was a huge LIE and a bunch of bull sh*t.... inch of bondo on like the whole car, and non of the chrom was there at all.. wasnt even a floor in the car and im pissed at the guy.. it was a nice 300 mi round trip for nothing.. still looking for parts.
  8. Yes, I'm not sure what the condition its in cause I haven't seen in in person. but i just consider my self lucky and i should take it while its still available.
  9. http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/pts/2088111932.html this is my very lucky parts car i found. picking it up saterday, i have a good friend in the auto repair industry so we will work together. As for the parts car, i plan to use what i need, and part out the rest, so stay tuned if you need 1972 parts, including nice straight bumpers, good roundies. etc. It was so fun while it lasted. and I'm sure the fixing and scavenging will be fun too! my 2002 is now an official project..
  10. I crashed my 2002 working on restoration now. insurance thankfully didn't total. I'm buying a parts car asap. needs a front end re-build..
  11. Are they Chromed or painted black like in the pictures above? I'd love to check them out, and i'll be in spokane for thanksgiving, but I won't have my 02 with me. Anybody have any wheels that would kinda.. fill up the wheel wells without rubbing. on stock suspension?? Hopefully pretty local?
  12. Sold it! Thanks so much for your help dude. I got it running and moved on. I have a 72 2002 now, its on the project blog thread. check it out!
  13. Thats my plan hope to get a vintage roof rack too, I would get great use out of it. and maybe a fog lamp too off the rear bumper. and yes of course wheels and mirror. audio in would be nice. sure it sounds great on that little mono speaker
  14. Yours looks very clean! we have practically identical cars. Love the rims you have on there, where did you pick those up? im a noob at wheel shopping, tips would be nice!
  15. Hey all, as you may recall, I had a 1976 02 that had some fuel issues. It was like a tomato soup red. We'll i sold that to a guy who is taking it in under his wing and hes really taking care of the car. Idk about you guy's but i like to know my old car went to an awesome owner. Anyway, I sold that because i didn't want an automatic, i didnt want A 1976, because the chrome and the roundies. so! i got a new car, from an old lady whos kept it garaged for 25 years at work and at home and driven it about 1200 miles a year. It's a beautiful equation that is a beautiful outcome. Here it is, non molested, stock and all there in working order! Anyway's I'm looking to get black basket weave rims for it but I'm not sure what size i should get if i wanted to fill the wheel well up a little better. on the stock suspension, what size would be best? 185/60/-??
  16. So something that concerns me is this sending unit. You guys keep talking about it like it's got a screen in it, but mine (which looks new) has a floater in it and just a straight shot from the bottom of the tube up until the top were it's a 90* angle. If you shine a light at one side... No screen. It's a very small tunnel that goes inside the sender about as big as the fuel line it self. That has no pumping mechanism in it does it?
  17. Haha, all signs just seem to be pointing to the pump, so that sounds right. ill try that. let me know if you see one around for cheap. on your thread you said you got one for 52 bucks? what kind was that? thanks buddy! you've been tons of help! i want to drive my car againnn! btw, what could cause a "brand new" looking pump to die?
  18. The crazy thing is that i got a flash light and looked all around on the inside of the tank and it was close to spotless! sure there was a little bit of silt but really? enough to kill the car? it still has practically a full tank of gas! is the little plastic container by the carburetor suppose to be full of gas? I don't know. i will do the cleaning again and clean the tank but i don't think there is anything in there. thanks again for your help
  19. Today was about 10 hours of 2002 work.. and we went in a full circle. We started with cleaning the fuel lines and screens the little plastic filter on the carborater side of the fuel pump was totally gunked up, the question is, is it only suppose to be about 1/4th full? i replaced that, and we took the fuel pump apart to clean the screen in that, it was really messy too. we blew air threw the lines, and they were clean. looking in my gas tank we found it was actually really clean and there was nothing to clean there, and air traveled streight through the fuel sender. for about 2 hours the car actually ran after all that cleaning, and it ran like perfectly, but alas all good things must end. it puttered to a stop and it died because of lack of fuel. for some reason the fuel pump is not sucking or pushing any fuel anywhere. the thing is that fuel pump is like brand new. i didnt install it obviously but it looked like it was fresh out of the box. anyway, we are still stuck with a fuel starved 2002, and we dont know where to look next. are there any other filters or anything i am missing?? I dont feel like we'll ever figure it out.
  20. Your awesome, thank you so much, Ill post an update when i try this, thanks again!
