  1. Sorry to hear about the bad experience another member had as described above.  To complete my report the Kugelfischer pump and injectors were installed today and the tii runs wonderfully.  Very smooth and lots of power.  Idles well and throttle response is right there!  Very satisfied customer.  Wonderful resource to have for those of us on the East Coast.  If you view the H&R page on facebook you will see a post from May 6th with my rebuilt pump on the test bench!

  2. One of the last items for the restoration of my car was the rebuild on the Kugelfischer injection pump.  After calling the usual sources and being confronted with up to a five (5) month wait I finally reached Marty at H&R Fuel Injection in Bohemia, NY (close to me in MA).  Marty's pricing was the same as everyone else but he said he could rebuild the pump and service the injectors in one week.  I assumed that was maybe being overly optimistic - but even if the service took one month I was way ahead of anyone else.  Marty's reputation (taking over from Hanz) was solid so a week ago I shipped the pump and injectors to him.  Received the rebuilt pump back today along with the serviced fuel injectors.  My mechanic says the pump is too beautiful to install!  Here is the rebuilt pump.  I will update with the performance when back on the road (hopefully in a matter of days).

  3. So almost a year ago I delivered the tii to Autobahn Performance in Peabody MA for a much needed engine DSCN7782.thumb.JPG.019b4f6832ffdb12e3b1811a5d3c5e97.JPGDSCN7990.thumb.JPG.2e16975ec10fd0396454cc835c034787.JPGDSCN8350.thumb.JPG.b182a740825102c8f1d37918fccdf44c.JPGrebuild.  The goal was a reliable driver so that long trips (i.e. The Vintage, etc.) could be undertaken with no worries.  The car was delivered back to me on March 19th just in time for me to go into "shelter in place" mode here in Massachusetts!  I have 196 pictures of the rebuild so I have selected a few shots to give the overall process.  DSCN7568.thumb.JPG.60fd50eb57fe52c8d0cf13b8523c2390.JPGDSCN7585.thumb.JPG.5c0d56d7ec7c712afc00ee87043d2654.JPGDSCN7601.thumb.JPG.a143b1a6078e399d754c50e43c246db0.JPGDSCN7604.thumb.JPG.7b808eb76001b46e247baa48f816ac7a.JPGDSCN7610.thumb.JPG.cf4e4d12d70d60d695cb8ac3c3e1c5cf.JPGDSCN7760.thumb.JPG.dcbe3953d08a71c0df6c7e3098b5becc.JPGDSCN7774.thumb.JPG.60e205b314f20fa05970188e8cd03efe.JPG

  4. Maybe some of the FAQ crew can relate to my situation.  I disassembled this car about 4 years ago.  Now as I near the final reassembly I have come across a few items of interior trim that I don't exactly remember what they are and where they go.  First mystery items are two pieces of foam that are cut to an exacting but odd shape.  Seem to recall these were under or near the rear seat trim pieces???  Secondly there are two vinyl pieces that I seem to recall were glued over the wheel arches in the area of the gap where the seat bottom fits up close to the wheel arches.  Anyone able to identify these?  Pictures would be very helpful.  I also have attached a picture of my car taken last week as we were sorting out the wiring.

  5. Walloth u. Nesch in Germany. They have all the factory body panels and also a complete supply of very nice repair/patch panels. You email them with what you need and ask for an "offer." They send you a price quote, pay by credit card and the parts are shipped by UPS and at your door in about 5 days. They can't be beat by anyone.

  6. The best source for repair panels that are high quality is Walloth u. Nesch in Germany. Go to their web site and find the panels you need. Email them and ask for an "offer" from them, they will email you back with a quote (Euro to dollar conversion if favorable now), you pay by credit card and they ship UPS and the parts are at your door within 5 days. I would stay away from Wolf as their parts are crude hand made panels, not the pressed panels (factory like) supplied by Walloth u. Nesch. If you don't see the panel you need, just ask - they have lots of repair panels. I purchased all 4 floor sections, outer rockers and rear quarter panel repair panels. They won't ship real big parts like the entire trunk floor - for that piece I suggest Maximillian Importing here in the U.S. Good luck with your restoration.

  7. Highly recommend replacement floor pans available via Walloth u. Nesch. These are molded pans that perfectly match the original sheet metal and reasonably priced. I replaced all four pans in my car (front and rear both sides) - order via email and pay via credit card. I had my shipment from Germany within 5 days of my order.

  8. When I disassembled my 2002 the heater core was obviously leaking into the passenger cabin. The firewall immediately under the heater core was devoid of most of the paint and a stream of coolant could be traced to the passenger side floor board where the "tar" pad and carpeting were soaked with coolant. Over the winter I would like to rebuild/repair the heater core. Does anyone know a vendor who could undertake this task or is this a DIY to which someone can provide some guidance? Would a better route be to just try to find and buy a good heater core?

  9. Guys: I submit the following report of my recent dealings with MAX to demonstrate what a stand up guy he is. I ordered several hundred dollars of parts months ago as I started a restoration process. Long story short after a couple of months I realized the body shell I was planning to restore was too far gone and therefore I could not use the parts. Not MAX's fault in any way. He was good enough to allow me to return the parts (small restocking fee) and gave me a store credit which basically paid for the entire trunk floor that went into the second body shell I had purchased by that time. He was understanding and worked with me and I will definitely continue to do business with MAX. William Harris in MA

  10. Check with Walloth u. Nesch as they list on their price list (remember use the price list that excludes VAT) a engine compartment wiring harness. You may reach them at info@wallothnesch.com or visit their website at www.wallothnesch.com I have purchased lots of parts from them and their service is first rate. Got another package from Germany today - average 5 days from order to delivery to U.S.
