Hi everyone, new to '02's and this site, gonna start with a question. Took off my driveshaft to replace the quibo and centre hanger, after putting it back and following all the great advice I found here for parts, installing, alignment etc., I found the space between the driveshaft and tranny flange to be about 1/8" greater than the thickness of the guibo.
Is this normal ? should the securing bolts all be tighten enough to pull the driveshaft/tranny together, or should I use washers to make up the difference? This car, 1975, has a 5 sp. conversion, wondering if the PO shortened the driveshaft too much. Didn't notice this when I disassembled the unit, although at least one of the bolts was missing a nut, probably the reason my guibo was hitting the shift selector rod in the first place and the reason I had to pull it apart.
