    Hello all, newbie to the 2002 world. i recently picked up a "76" for $500 the paint is great, the interior is perfect. but has been low on power since ive owned it, runs out quick. i found that the carb base gasket was bad so i ordered a rebuild kit and did so. now it will not idle at all and while messing with it i get overwhelmed with fumes that burn my eyes. the carb is a water choke which i disconnected at this time. the car is not a Tii but has an electric fuel pump mounted under the car near the fuel tank. i cant seem to find any vacuum leaks it seems to have been molested as far as the extensive smog equipment. it has an electronic ignition and what appears to be a mechanical distributor but not certain (only one vacuum connection). overall the car is cool, all electrical works all gauges etc. Im just frustrated i recently moved from Detroit, and all my knowledgeable friends, and most of my tools were left behind. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated and when i get this ironed out id love to cruze with fellow 2002ers in the Hollywood area. Thanks
