I have a 71' 2002
my dad has a 70' 911T
we stripped the paint ourselves and I seem to remember it having galvanization. either way I guess
try to look out for the head light buckets in addition to the battery trays and spare tire well.
and everyone is correct on parts
there are map holders that bolt into the door panels that sell for well over $1000 a pair
and recaro seats are going to be at least 2500 if you are lucky
we have seen them for as much as $10,000
a blast to drive
beautiful to listen to
good luck finding one you like
the car pictured is the current state of our 911, it looks darker in person
I had a 914 as well, it was a blast but is missing that oomph when you punch it, and it doesn't have the sound of a 911

if its the intake, the bolts on the bottom of the intakes on the head are difficult to get to
cut an open ended wrench in half (12 mm I think)
and shave down the outside of the crescent section of the wrench to fit around the nut
takes some time
have fun!

Bill clinton! more like John Bobbit

I have sports with eibach pro kit springs and I am very happy with the ride.
And it is my daily driver.
But I have driven the similar spring with HDs and it was much softer, but not as fun to drive

that does help for decreasing weight and increasing strength on the frame rails
what I am looking for is like a gusset plate, or a piece of box tubing that would go inside the engine compartment
and would join the firewall, the frame rail, and the rear section of the engine compartment wall.
if anyone has done this and has pics I would love to see them.
thanks,
chet
p.s.
if anyone has any other body strengthening mod pictures I would love to see them, thanks again

Draco and I are thinking of reinforcing our front frame rails.
we were thinking of using some stout rectangular tubing welded between the firewall, frame rail, and wall in the engine compartment.
does anyone have any pictures of cars with this mod.
thanks,
chet

I have Eibach Pro Kit springs (lowered 1.5") with Bilstein Sports. Does anyone have pictures of this setup with minilite style wheels 14" and 15"? I am trying to decide which to go with, I realize that 15s are earier to find tires for but dont know if I want to go that big. any ride difference between the two.
thanks,
chet

if you want to go nuts on money becker makes one that is over 1000
if not there is one on crutchfield's website that I have heard good things about for about 250 I think
I bypassed my radio all together and ran an ipod straight to an amp
cheap! and lots of room for gauges
have fun,

thanks guys
that helps a lot
I only need one corner adjusted
I can imagine how frustrating it must be to do the whole hood
I like that silver car in the how to
thanks again,
chet

I tried to adjust the hood gap with the angled plate on the driver's side that is bolted to the hood
I figured that the cam that closes the hood would push down harder and make close all the way like the passenger side
it didnt
does anyone have any tips on this
thanks,
chet

I just put sports in my car
the rebound to full height was about 7-10 seconds
I think yours sound like they would be much easier to install
on the front at least
but in my one car, one shock set replace experience, that sounds like they are blown

in BMW 2002 and other '02

I put new ball joints on my steering members yesterday
I did the string and tape measure method with the front end up in the air
and found center on the steering box first
I Have eibach springs with bilstein sports
its is adjusted to 1/8 inch tow out
and it still pulls right
I would like to learn how to do this myself, but don't know where to go from here
thanks,
chet
