So I just got my first car with carbs and have to replace the filters on my Weber side 45 dcoe side drafts and am unsure about installing the vent filters... First off what kind of filter oil should I be using? And is driving with oiled filters a bad thing? 1) What is the float cover? And what area should I clean? 2) Once the float cover is off will the filter chamber be obviously seen? For the air filters: 1) How do you remove the velocity stacks or do you not need too? 2) You place the collar or clamp on the stack and slide it to the tampered end until it stops or until it starts to taper? And then once it is in position you put the filter over it and clamp it down? Thanks.
