Is this just laying in place, or is it fastened down in some way?

I found $20 folded and stashed in the vapor canister slide in the trunk. Great hiding place. Perhaps too good....;-)

Hello Mike, I hope you and yours are having Happy Holidays !
I was hoping there was something short of disassembling the column, but I will get on with it and get back to you for a column with a key. Thanks

Very suddenly, my key will not release the steering lock ! I tried the original key, and it is the same. I have tried jiggling, pressure in both directions against the steering lock, etc. It is as if I suddenly have the wrong key to the car.
I drove it to an event, emerged 2 hours later, and the the key would not work. Any tricks for releasing the steering lock ?

Cool car and great color ( from the owner of an Agave 72 tii) . Enjoy the car and the community.

As Ray Charles sings, "Here we go again". I have not been very active on this board, but I just picked up my first Squarelight car after a long and unbroken string of Roundies. It needs much attention, and will probably cause me to miss the Vintage event, but this should be one of the few acceptable reasons for that, yes? Anyway, I am working on the list of parts needed, and will be telling the tale on the www.classicvelocity.com blog. I will be here tapping the collective wisdom as well i am sure. My goal is to drive it to Limerock Labor Day weekend....

Had a great time returning to V@V after a few years of missing the event. See attached for pix.

In an incredible series of last minute events and decisions, I am heading down to the vintage event arriving late tonight. Anyone still en route down I-81 check your rearview mirror ;-)

Wow !
A great gift idea for an 02head. What do they weigh ?

Clay, is that just mounted straight to the body ?

Strange, I have the same issue on my E34 with the glovebox. Opening it feels like you might break it. anyone have a pic ?

If you are going to make a swap, go for a weber 38/38. If the 32/36 wakes the car up, then the 38/38 is a bucket of icy water to the face, then an espresso followed by a Jolt Cola...

Thanks for sharing this. It is amazing what pieces of 02 history are now available via the web. I found quite a bit of stuff about rally efforts while researching the post below....

Cool color combination. I look forward to the finished product. The again, I've had 2 malaga cars, so I'm biased ;-)

I currently have one of those wheels on the tii. Nice size and comfortable for me. Mine has a regular roundel in the center.

I also got the email and waited for the hard copy. Good issue.

No 02 Fest East pictures yet ??

This validates the very non-scientific experience of many years working on rusty cars. I've never used acetone or kroil, but I certainly agree that Liquid wrench beats PB blaster or WD40. However, WD40 is always in the garage for its all-purpose qualities (cleaner, lubricant, etc). Thanks for posting....
