Just went to check the oil after a 100+ mile drive today in my 71 and found the lower inch+ of the dipstick is gone. It looks to have fractured about .5 inch down from where the stick starts to flatten out... the effective measuring length is now only 11 3/4 inches. Wierd, it was there last weekend.. Any thoughts???
First thing tomorrow the car goes up on stands and the drain plug is pulled. I hope to find the missing chunk..

Not to be a spoiler, but my 2002 was NON rust until I parked it in my Garage in Portland for 4 years and didn't see the tin worm working its way through the fenders and rockers. If the car was put away inside or out with mud or organic material in any of the tight spaces, it will rust from the inside out in the Oregon Humidity.. Just my 02 Cents worth..

Can anyone out there send me a picture of their DCOE setup, specifically the linkage and the heater return hoses? I am trying to get mine back together after having them off the car for a decade and have some questions that pictures might help with.. thanks

Any ideas on how to get the tach working again after putting in a Pertronix pointless ingnition? Car started right up (after I reset the Dizzy to tdc because I didn't reclamp the Dizzy after I took it out) and runs just as crappy as before. Not Ignition's fault, the carb is wayyyy out of wack. thanks in advance. MUDI
