This was my first 2002. It was originally purchased in Switzerland; the owner's book had 2 years of Swiss dealer service stamps. I found a street map of Jamaica in the back seat pocket, I always wondered about it's early journey.
In 1985, right out of college I decided I wanted one. I kept seeing 2 different ones parked near where I worked, but never at the same time. So, I left a note with my number on one. Next thing you know, Jerry calls me and says he has one he can sell cheap, but it has frame rust that will need to be repaired. He then spent the next 5 weekends, prolly 40+ hours helping me put what was a parts car back together. It had no head, trans, or seats. We found a hood and trunk and later a heater box (I had to evict the mice).
I drove the car for 3 years and it never let me down. Except when the mechanic oil sender blew and when the starter solenoid started going and need 20 minutes to cool off before restarting.
I gave it to my brother who gave it to a friend who gave it back to Jerry, who eventually scrapped it.
