HA! Sorry I guess I should have explained that better. Its really not in bad shape at all which is why I couldnt believe it didnt start. I think it had been sitting for 2-3 months since the last start. Its just usually so well behaved. My guess is that its just the cold weather.

Okay well the 02 has been stored (yes indoors) for a while now and it hasnt been running for many months. I go out to start it today and its really hard going it will sort of try and turn over but not actually get running on its own. It also started to backfire...which makes me jump each time, and it has NEVER done this before. I gave up trying to get it to start when a little wiff of smoke came from the bottom of the engine up. Smelt a little like an electrical fire does. Any tips for gettign the old 02 running again? Perhaps my starter is shot?

ahh man.... im stroking my m20 ...

what kind of stroker options are there? Most m20s are what 2.7L right? Hardly worth the effort of trading my Metric mechanic twin side draft 4 banger for the extra 0.5-0.6 L

As for the difs what about looking into a a diff from a cobra mustang, not the new generation but the slightly older more ugly ones. It came with a supercharged (302???) that puts out in the 400 range I think. Would be a possibility.

Curtis is that a turbo m20? What kind of numbers are you posting, what size of turbo, how many psi. Hows it handle with all that power?

I was just wondering what you guys pumping moderate to large power m20s are doing for the rear portion of your drive line. Something tells me that a stock differential/driveshaft isnt going to keep up to that kind of demand. No ones putting ford 9 inchers in yet are they?

So after I cut out the rust infected area I would like to weld in some patch metal (First time doing this) do I butt join the patch to the car or do I put the metal behind or infront?

It pulls nicely and is better then stock but it sure isnt putting out 200hp I can tell you that. Dont know too much about it though it was put in my car some time before i bought it. Needless to say I have been happy with it no time bombs for me.

I like the no chrome look. Great looking car!

I dont have any chrome on them right now and I personally think it looks like trash. I suppose if you rolled the lip up a little it wouldnt look to bad. Im pritty sure removing them wouldnt hurt structural integrity but do you think that if it rains while your moving it will drip into the car?

Im thinking that I will probably just leave them on.

now... to keep the rest of the trim or not???

I was just wondering what the opinions of the group are about keeping that drip edge that goes along the roof. The chrome trim that was there got pritty thrashed and was considering just griding down the edge and going for a smooth look. Has anyone done this, or seen it done, or have any opinions on it?

Also, when you have an edge of two colors say flat black and malaga is it common practice to run a pinstripe edge down the line where the two colors meet?

How about a weekly or monthly news letter to let everyone know whats going on. To build mo re of a community. Have section for events, new faqs, or needed faqs, or "The Best of the Faq forums" where links outline some hot topics or some interesting points or some dumb funny ones.

Just an idea....

Im sure lots of ppl would like to post pictures of their projects (I know I enjoy looking) but dont want the hassle of actually running a web site. Maybe a sort of project blog or something. Just an idea.

My opinion is still undecided on this new forum style. I think it has potential.
