Hey all,
I need to replace the line between the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder. I don't exactly want to spend the 135 dollars on the BMW part... Are there any recommended after market parts? Also, is this part (UUC Stainless) the same fitment or is it different?

Hey guys,
Having issue disconnecting the brake pedal from the shaft that travels up to the master vacuum. It is the only thing stopping me from removing my pedal box and I cannot figure out what I need to do because my shop manual is rubbish in this section. Any advice?

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a few parts in the midwest. I need a rust free drivers side door and perhaps a fender. I can fix my fender, but if somebody has a decent one around I'd like to know about it. Also, I need the lower trim pieces that go below the drivers side door, and would also like to find some decent square tail light lenses. I'm located in Missouri and am willing to drive for the door and fender.
Thanks
Travis

Hey all,
Been working on replacing my slave cylinder and clutch master and broke one of the circlips for the slave cylinder accidentally. Are they just a common sized part that I could go find or are they specially sized?

Thanks all! I'm having a hard time getting the back seats to sit into the metal clips like they should. Did the seat belts in the later cars change the way the seats fit in or something? Or are they just that tight if a fit? The backs are a little crunchy, but they look wonderful and I don't expect a lot of people will sit back there.

Aright guys, you've all been a huge help so far and I appreciate it a lot. I have found this community to be super supportive and helpful in my adolescence to BMW owner ship. I've always been a Datsun guy, but now I'm not so sure... here she is. 76 garnet red metallic. No rust at all on floors or strut towers or battery tray. Drivers door will probably be replaced, I think I can fix the hood, and I've got a new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder on the way. Runs good, had a Weber that needs tuning. I just picked up the seats in Memphis (it had some cheap racing seats in it before) and installed them. I think they are from an earlier car, but they are beautiful.
Also pulled the Momo steering wheel off in favor of a factory wheel.
Any advice on Weber 32/36 tuning, and timing, are much appreciated. This will be a fun project and I look forward to it. It will be getting repainted it's original color with some very mild period correct modifications.

Can you PM me a pic of the crack?

(you win Hal... I was too slow)
It sounds like your clutch master cylinder is leaking.
I had the same problem when I bought my car and replaced it, along with the slave cylinder. The rectangular hole in the bottom of the box would have been covered by the closed cell foam pedal box cover when it was new.
Those covers can also trap brake fluid when you have a leak like yours, as well as trapping water... which can cause the box to rust.
If you are seeing light, you must not have that cover any more. I simply put a piece of aluminum foil tape over the hole on mine.
I bought a cover, but chose not to put it on and I am glad I didn't, because the new master is leaking already.
Some people swear by the 'importance' of that cover, for dampening sound; but having repaired a rusty box... I am leary.
I do like the foam cover for the inside of the box though. If you are missing that one, I would suggest adding it to your shopping list.
Sometimes the clutch master and slave get full of gray sludge. A simple cleaning could put you back in business; but it could also lead to having to do the job twice. A new master is roughly sixty bucks.
Do you know what parts I should look up when searching for the foam covers?

Hey guys,
I've noticed that there is brake fluid around the pedal cluster and soaked into my carpet on my 2002. The pedal box is in good shape, no rust or anything, but I can see the light of day from it. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Also, is there a grommet that I am missing for the pedal cluster box that should prevent me from seeing through to the floor?
Thanks

Hey guys,
I'm looking for an original steering wheel to go in my 76 2002. It has a momo steering wheel in it now, and I would trade if interested. Looking for a functioning original part, or some other period correct BMW race wheel that is not tiny.

Hello,
please contact me about seats at travistellman@gmail.com. I would like to get a complete set of original seats for my 76 2002. Black if you have it. If not, any complete set will do. Condition does not have to be exceptional.
Regards,
Travis

Looking for some 2002 seats. I am in the process of purchasing a 1976 and I would like the correct seats. It comes with two new cheap racing seats that have hardly been used. Hoping to find something in between St. Louis, MO and Denver, CO.
Color is not critical, and they certainly do not have to be perfect.

Travis

Still have the seats? Would you ship?

Hey guys,
I'm working on a few things currently. I'm wanting to replace the carpet on my 76. I've seen 1 piece molded and a 9? piece set. Any thoughts on what is better/more desirable?
Also, does anyone have a preferred source for headliner fabric?
Lastly, had anyone removed the original molded insulation and replaced with my a modern alternative like dynamat or anything like that?
im open to recommendations.
