ok here goes. More single dcoe woes! when I first purchased my single dcoe 45 and lynx manifold I had a stumble on idle there for I switch to 55 f9 idles which made the car run great on the idle circuit. I figured while I was changing the idles I would change out the emulsion tubes and such on the main side. here was the main setup when I purchased the dcoe
f7 tubes
200 airs
145 mains
45 pump jets .
results.. ran like ok but struggled after 2500-4300rpm..4300 and above ran awesome. So after taking some advise which was wrong I now have this set up
f2 tubes
170 airs
130 mains
45 pump jets
timing is correct 25-30 degrees advanced petronix ignition and coil, spark plugs gapped. 3.5-3.7psi at pump. off idle is fine 2500-any rpm car is dead in the water. motor almost flutters when I try to give it more gas so im switching to
f9 tubes
170 airs
125 mains
40 pump jets
car has a 287 cam reground from 301
any help with some jetting advise would be great!

A carbon sealed turbo is the only option I have and the piping will be a horror show. Blow through with a dcoe won't really work that well off boost plus clocking the turbo and finding a way to route the bump pipe and the external waste gate pipe will be a pain. My other option is to do a small wet shot of nitrous but after searching people have said not a good idea. I just really don't want to go efi! just got the single Weber dcoe manifold setup a couple weeks ago and I don't want to ditch it for a megasquirt setup!

I was thinking of that too.then there would be the problem of mounting the carb on the exhaust side and potentially losing the air and fuel mixture as is travels threw the cross over pipe but I could be wrong. As for the exhaust downpipe and bypass valve pipe you have a point with that one!

I've been mulling over the option of doing a draw through turbo setup for a while. I do not want to go blow through due to extensive carb tuning and modifications. I basically have everything planned out on paper. I was thinking of feeding the turbo using some sort of crossover exhaust pipe that would run from the turbo manifold over to the turbo on the intake manifold side. This being said will header wrap be enough to keep the temps down? Does anyone have experience with draw through setups? I know its very archaic but that's what I'm going for! I plan on using my single dcoe although it will have to be turned 90 degrees.

i had the same problem with my speedo. Glass dropped and wouldn't stop rattling. Be careful with the glass it will chip very easy. I know everyone is going to think im nuts but i took out the "snap" rings and applied some silicone. its held up for 3 years now.

you also might wanna open the diff cover and make sure one of your spider gears isn't cracked.....ask me how i know.

A heat gun and some pop rivets are a mans best friend for this one!

took the cable off 3 times. Same problems but would move in different spots.....ugh
-
Took apart my dash over the weekend to clean glass and replace instrument cluster lights. After all was finished i screwed the cable back in. As soon as the car moves the Speedo goes to 70mph and as i drive it goes all the way to 120mph. I will also bounce all over the place while driving at any speed. Not sure whats going on here. Looked under the car as well and the speedo cable looks fine.Could it be the gauge itself? Is there a calibration on the back of the gauge? looks as though there is a little washer (copper) around the speedo gauge. Car has a 5 speed getrag.Very stumped at this point. Any help would be great!

14"? i have stock steel wheels but i think they are 13 inch.

i had the same problems with my 38/38 if your going to change out all the jets also order f66 emulsion tubes they worked wonders for me. also clean clean clean. there could be dust or something else jamming up the jets as well. also check your float height and fuel pressure.

just wanted to know if it worked from an old thread i saw along time ago. With a rebuilt motor, schrick cam weber carb and 5spd conversion and custom stainless headers i dont think im going down the "rice" route what so ever. Thank you for your advise and help though. just interested in seeing how something like this would actually work. I could just weld the IE threaded tubes onto there respective perches and get vw shortened shocks along with springs.

a while ago i heard of someone using honda (ugh) accord coilovers for our 2002s. i searched and only found a vague post from 03...guessing it wasn't a popular topic here. Can anyone shed some light on this. Has anyone used them? Dont want to spend GC or IE money on a set but if i must i will.
thanks!

i was thinking the jam adapter above and then a single dcoe 40 or 44. not sure if there would be any advantages of using this adapter with a single side draft.
-
would there be any performance gains over the 38/38 im currently running?

i have black IE stepped headers that i used as a template for custom stainless headers i made. never bolted on the car or used. let me know what you think.
