Today I replaced the front right caliper on my '70 '02 and was going to bleed it with a new brake bleeder vacuum that I just bought online. I opened the inner bleed screw and before I had a chance to attach the vac to the caliper the fluid began to flow freely. Not just slowly dripping, really flowing. I don't recall ever experiencing this on any car I've owned but I went ahead and let it flow. I did the same on the outer two screws and the fluid flowed from them just as fast. I assume the air purged with the fluid. I drove the car after and the pedal seemed perfect. Could this be an issue with the master cylinder?

conkithen and xferboy, were your Cardone calipers Ate rebuilds, new Koreans or both?

I ordered a set and one is an original Ate rebuild and the other is a brand new caliper from Korea. Will they perform the same? Should I attempt to contact the vendor and get matching calipers.
Thanks,Greg
Capping emissions pipe / fitting at manifold
in BMW 2002 and other '02
Posted
The emissions pipe and the end of my '70 '02 exhaust manifold has been cut and needs to be capped or plugged. I attempted to removed the fitting and it would not budge even after spraying with pb blaster. I've tapered a 1/2 inch copper plumbing cap on my neighbors ring sizer and hammered it into the pipe and was also going to cap the pipe with a tapered down 3/4 copper cap and a hose clamp. Does anyone have any other ideas on capping this?
