Thanks, I'll drop Patrick an e-mail and see if he has anyone he recommends. I'd still love to hear any thoughts from anyone else that's had a positive (or I guess negative so I know who to avoid) experience with a local shop or person.

I hunted back as far at the history in this sub forum would take me and couldn't find a previously created thread, nor did broadly searching reveal anything so...
Does anyone have any upholstery/reupholstery shops or people in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area that they would recommend? I'm pretty familiar with the online and out-of-state options, but am hoping there is someone local I can consider going to.
Yelp and Google of course list what seem like some decent options, but 02FAQer reviews carry much more weight in my book, so please share any thoughts you have and thank you in advance!

Just wanted to say it was great meeting so many of you yesterday! The BMW 2002 owners community is full of a lot of rad people!

If anyone has any Tobacco (early) armrests they want to sell I'd love you forever.
I'll be bringing a set of DCOE45 horns I don't need that someone can have for free if they need a set. They've got some patina on them, but a patient person could probably polish it out.

They were installed on the stock brackets not on the floor pan. I installed new seats with stock 02 sliders in the same location.
Sorry for the mistake on my part! I could have sworn I had read in a number of locations that they didn't fit, but it looks like I misread and they're just a bit of a taller seating position and do bolt in. GLWS and thanks for sharing knowledge!

I'm pretty sure e30 seats aren't direct bolt in for 2002, regardless of the bracket. Unless you mean "cut out the stock brackets and bolt them through the floor" in which case, oh yes, they can bolt to the floor pan.
e21 seats on the other hand don't require removal of the stock bracket.

Just sent payment for two, one in green, one in blue. I'm excited, these are going to be great!

Hey, I just wanted to take a moment and say thanks for the pictures and the inspiration! I've got a 68 with rust in a lot of the exact same spots, though probably half as much as yours (and I'm feeling lucky for it lol). This thread will a great reference for some of the tough spots like the rear of the rocker.

I am still interested, with ground shipping, if your pending sale does not go through.
Thanks, Walt
Confirmed sold to bmwfan (Walt). Thanks!

If you will pack and ship the dash, I will buy it. I'm in So. California, 92253
Fed Ex end of second business day, with pick up around $50
Email : mercedlake@ gmail.com
Which dimensions did you rate? I quoted the dimensions I listed above (12x16x56, 25lbs) to your zip and was given 47.68 ground. That was also without marking it as a residential address (which pops the price up to $50.92). Fedex 2nd day, whether they pick it up or not is $186.61.
My zip is 98126 if you (or anyone) would like to price the package themselves.

SOLD
For sale is a late 2002 one piece dash. It's in "ok" condition, which is to say it does a few cracks and the finish isn't perfect. Please see pictures, I've tried to take good ones and of course let me know if you have any questions.
I bought it dash two years ago when I first bought my '02 thinking I'd replace the dash in my 68 because it's pretty rough, but I've gotten the bug/desire to have my original 3 piece restored. $50 is what I've paid and I'd like to get that back if I can, but also keep any '02 parts I can from going in a dumpster.
Ideally I'd like to sell this locally as shipping won't be cheap due to size, but if you insist just quote a package from Seattle to your home that is 12"x16"x56" and 25lbs.
Thanks!
Mat

Black is correct for the turbo; others got silver. Go with what you like!
Interesting... I've never actually seen the black ones for sale anywhere... Anyone know of a good source?

I think the candy stripe livery would be my favorite, but the Castrol one is amazing too. I hope to see either out at the Pacific Raceways vintage races in July and maybe even snap a picture if I'm lucky!

I like it! I prefer vanity plates that are clever as opposed to '2002', or 'My BMW'... Yeah, yeah we know what it is.
I almost bought an Inka and I was going to get it a vanity plate of 'RNGUGLD' or "Orange you glad... I didn't say banana" because that's a horrible joke and I liked the idea of people groaning when they got it.
And Kugel is awesome, my wife made it for me on our third date!

I'm going to agree with Mike on the paint, it looks damn good from here. I wish my paint was that good!
Re: the interior, one options is to check out Aardvarc (google them plus 'bmw')... they sell door panels, seats, and kits to do both.
-
Just be patient. Even in my area where I got what I wanted for a decent price I'm still seeing 02s pop up for way more than I would pay. You'll find something eventually!
-
I'm just happy to finally see what goes there as mine didn't come with them and I haven't been able to find any pictures of the part until now. But yeah, I don't think I'll be spending $98 on them. Maybe $15 tops

Do you know how long it's been sitting for? Depending on that you might not necessarily need to drain the gas, though it also depends on how full the tank is. I'd probably do battery, oil and fresh gas first to get it running, then plugs, etc to get it running nicely. Well, as nicely as possible for a car that's been sitting unloved.
Don't forget to check the tires, if it's been long they're likely cracked and unsafe at any considerable speed.

DISCLAIMER: It is probably illegal in your state to tamper with the odometer of any vehicle. The above advice is given strictly for entertainment and in no way, shape or form do I suggest anyone without a proper license attempt the tampering described above.
It depends on the state and the car. My title has 000000 for the mileage reading, meaning it's old enough that they don't count it anymore. This is for a 68 in WA state.

$4k, dude you've been hanging out on Bring A Trailer too much.
And wow is that a lot of rust for a CA plated car... What did someone have the sprinklers aimed at it? That looks like it's got more rust than my WA car!
