The first thing I did was install a Mercedes license plate holder to move the plate down a bit.  It made a nice difference to my eyes.

Yes, just the frame rail unless it's more convenient for you to cut it out including a little sheet metal on each side.

Probably NOS.  New and in new packaging with correct part number.  Don't know if there's a mfg date somewhere on insert.  I was happy to get them to go with the rears purchased two years ago.

The BMW 2002 tii US VIN 2763996 was manufactured on May 18th, 1973 and delivered on May 24th, 1973 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City. The original colour was Fjord metallic, paint code 037.

Beginning to slowly part this one out.  Lots of rust but there may be something you need.  Driver frame rail, trunk and windshield are no good. Right side back glass missing.  I'm taking a few parts for my '73 but almost all of what you see is for sale. Let me know what you're looking for.  I'll do my best to take pics and describe as accurately as possible.  Car is located in Melbourne, FL. 

Maybe slightly off topic, but, is there a diagram of how to  best cut up a 2002 for parts?  Maybe similar to a butcher's diagram to cut up livestock?  I have a '75 that I'm parting but want to make sure I don't ruin any steel that someone else may be able to use.  Maybe the OP could also use it to cut up his salvage yard finds.
