It started showing up for sale almost immediately after it was purchased. This all occurred in mid August. PO did mention an engine rebuild less than 5k ago. Also mentioned a rusted hood and some other minor body rust. If I recall correctly it had a nice interior as well. Likely still a good deal @ $8k - just not for me ;-)

Haven't seen it but had an agreement to buy it from the PO who then told me he sold it to one of his friends who really wanted it. PO was selling it for $4K so this guy is trying to double his money.

That said, from what he PO told me it is a very nice car! It even came with a bunch of spare parts and a 5 speed transmission. I was SO bummed - it makes me angry every time I see this ad. People were giving the guy a hard time when he first started listing it - and boy did he have an attitude about that. Oh - the ads started appearing about a week after he purchased it, so not really sure if it puts the PO in a bad light or the buyer seller.

But - this is all my hang up, just giving you that bit of background.

I live all of 10 miles from the shop, will have to go look just to see it. The facility is amazing. During the summer months there is a cars & coffee get-together once a month and the complete shop is open. It has to be seen to be fully appreciated. That said, it IS EXPENSIVE!! I

Timing is just wrong for me - I'm looking to get one early next year as I complete a few other projects. Best of luck with the sale - looks really nice!

Just has to respond as this is the type of vehicle I'm looking for - on that I can simply enjoy and work on over time. Unfortunately I probably won't have funds until after the new year :-/

I've been trying to contact that seller by email and phone (from his/her CL listing) for about the last month. The only reply I get is the sound of crickets.

I can explain some of what is going on in the adds for that black 2002. It was listed for weeks in Gilroy for $2250, person sold it for $2200. The day it sold it was listed for the $5350 price up in SF. That is what I think made that person who originally posted the 'complaint' posting. Also, if you look in LA CL you'll find that same car listed for $4950. So, my thought's is it is shady at best. I'm also thinking I should have had a closer look at it for the $2250 when it was first posted...

Sounds like a nice car - I just called the place and looked online and the car appears to be gone :-/
