  2. Hi all,

    Anyone have Pete's number?

I'm supposed to see one of his cars trough a middle man / friend tomorrow, who....I can't get in touch with right now. Matt from SCR knows Pete, but I can't get him on the horn after work hours.

So...if anyone has his phone number, I'd love to call him myself tonight to set up the visit...

    Thanks!!!

  3. Hi all,

The last topic got me all fired up.

The wheel base for an awd/4wd VW golf I'd just over 97 inches. I happend to find a gutted golf syncro for sale for dirt cheap with all the driveline intact minus the motor.

I wonder if I could canibalize my 02 shell to fit on the golf chassis to make an awd 2002...?

  4. Hi all,

I found a decent e30 complete and driving for $1800 locally. I dint know anything about the engine or drive line. ix means awd right? If everything checks out, is this a good swap to give more power? Does the ix drive present a problem?

Another stupid question.....has anyone ever done a engine and tranny swap with an ix car to make your 2002 awd?

    Thanks!

  5. My family and I are fine in Bridgeport, CT.

I live on the water in Bridgeport, just north of the Fairfield town line. Water came over the street and right up to my stone wall, which is about 6ft above mean high tide. Our basement is dry, thank God! I lost a section of siding, and have some holes in my bug screens, but thats about all the damage we had. I have about 1500 lbs of ocean debris on the side walk infront of my house, including nasty ass syringe...and 5 gallon poly container of someone's piss.....NASTY!

Our friends in Fairfield got the brunt of the damage as they are a lower laying community than ours. There is still 3-4ft of water on some streets in FFLD.

I just got my power back at 3:00 today, and couldn't be happier. Although it was a great feeling to be prepared and have everything we needed to be comforatble, we did get a little stir crazy and had to get out.

My father lost 34 trees on his 20 acres in Redding, CT. He had to chainsaw his way to work on Tuesday! A friend on Lalley Rd. in Fairfield was rescued by an FD boat Tuesday morning. They lost everything on the first floor of the house.....no bueno!

I brought my boat down from Thamesport Marina in New London on Friday, thank god I did, because the marina got MESSED UP! and all the docks and boats are a screwed...!

  6. I'm prepared for the worst ere in Bridgeport, CT. I live right in the water, so I'm pretty much screwed with the 6-12ft storm surge.

I'm outta here, heading for higher ground tomorrow in the AM...

    Stay safe everyone!!!

  7. Anyone down in my neck of the woods? Fairfield, CT

Looking for some tech help/advice/experience. I'm going to be working on my car in the very near future and could use a friend to call when I get stuck or have a question...

    Thanks!

  8. Hi all,

Anyone ever do a video or pic documentary of how to remove a dash?

I have a beautiful dash in my 70 parts car that I'd like to swap into my driver.

Do I need special tools? Does the windshield need to come out?

    Thanks,

    Shenton

  9. Thanks,

I've heard it in 3rd, but i think it's relative to the amount pressure put on the rear suspension.

For instance, the harder I take off from stand still in 1st, or how hard i lay it down in second from rolling speeds, the louder it is. When shifting from 3rd to 4th, I guess it doesn't happen because the rear is not under as much pressure as a stand still or rolling start.

I'm definitely going to take your advice and replace all the bushings etc...
