  1. I'm not sure if the choke is working, and not sure how to check.

    Another clue, the engine will cut out while I'm driving and not pushing the petrol pedal down. I.e. while the car is in motion it cuts out.

    Sorry guys, must be frustrating giving me advice because of my limited knowledge.

  2. No you are not going crazy, this has very little to do with brain chemistry. The temp gauge is a guide and not 100% accurate.

    A bad ground with the headlight & turn signal circuit can manifest itself through the temp gauge. When you put on your turn signals does the temp needle pulse up and down?

    If so, there is increased resistance in the circuit, resistance = heat, clean grounds and connections.

    I think we have it.

  3. I have a sneaky suspision that my brights have something to do with my engine running hot. During the day I have no issues with engine temp, but in the evening, with my brights on, the engine seems to be sizzling after 10 minutes.

    Further, my brights seem to drain the battery while I drive...

    Any chance of wiring being the problem here?

    The battery has been tested and is in good order.

  4. Can anyone help me with a broken door handle on a 2002 1971 model (passanger side).

    The interior lever and outside button lever does not do anything when I try and operate it.

    I have removed the interior panel of the door and I'm busy fiddling with, and swearing at, the locking mechanism - to no avail.

    If anyone has some tips or can show me a link that explains how the mechanism works it would be much appreciated.
