Bill had a lot of other extra parts.... I spoke to him at length missing the free car... by many....
Did you grab that stuff too? Radio and other parts??
I am looking for gobi tan 1974 seats, mine are SHOT....
I took some extra parts but he kept some things like the radio and other miscellaneous stuff. The seats in Bill's may be restorable but not in great shape, I really wanted to restore his car but the rust in the shock towers and other places like the connection points for the rear subframe does not make it a good candidate, it would take gobs of money to bring it back to life (properly) Another interesting story is that the car was originally Sahara and not the current Baltic Bleu, whoever did the work went through great lengths because you couldn't' tell by simply looking at it, everything was re-sprayed at the time...

I'll take the radiator, let me know when you get rest inventoried and maybe we can work out a package deal.
Let me know when you have time to come over and look at the rest of the stuff, any day after 5 PM is good for me, thanks!

Looks like I will parting with the following and try and sell the car with the original parts at a much lower rate;
Zender front spoiler - $150
Black Recaro front seats - sold
E24 rear seats (I was planning on doing the rear seat conversion) - $100
New pedal box with pedals and associated hardware - $300
New carpet - $150
IE aluminum radiator - $275
Front door panels - $650 obo, black (currently listed for $329 ea on ebay plus shipping from Roger tii)
Extra front fender (driver side) - sale pending
Extra set of door panel backing (wood)
Other misc parts that need to be inventoried - still trying working these
I will post pics soon, thanks again!

I'm in SA, if you decide to part it out I'd be interested in the radiator, spare gas tank and maybe a few other bits.
I'll let you know soon, thanks!

What kind of condition is the front fender in? Picture? Just up the road a tad bit north of Austin and can whip down.
Here you go, it's in very good shape, already stripped...

Javistor,
Apologies for taking over your post here, but another Touring (and in TX) is real special.
Let it be a lesson to you for getting to Bill's free car just ahead of me (hehe).
Good to know Bert's car gets out now & again. I always see it under a blanket.
No sweat Les, Tourings are definitely a special breed and glad you found another mate through the post! I felt awful for Bill when I went and picked up the car, I could tell it was heartbraking for him to let go... I really wanted to restore his but it's a bit too much at this time, just hope someone will want to take on it and I'll happily give it up!

Second in line for the Recaros. Maybe other parts as well.
How much were you asking for the car?
Considering that most of the original parts removed are still available + extra parts + donor car I would like to get $2500 but I will consider any reasonable offers... BTW here is a pic of the last one I restored over 10 years ago, painted Calypso Red next to Bert's 02

I'll keep you posted, thanks for you interest!

Looking to part ways with my 72 02' project. Unfortunately I've come to the realization that my time is limited I don't want this project to sit around forever taking space in my garage. I purchased the car in mostly original condition about 2 years ago; it was running rough and will need an engine rebuild. My plans were to rebuild/modify not to original condition therefore I've been buying parts randomly that would be suitable to my plans. The car was stripped by me and only has the engine, tranny and rear glass still on but I kept all the original pieces that were removed. It was missing the front bumper and some of the exterior trim when I bought it but I've gotten a recondition bumper since. Some of the parts that I bought in the last two years;
Zender front spoiler
Black Recaro front seats
E24 rear seats (I was planning on doing the rear seat conversion)
New pedal box with pedals and associated hardware
New carpet
IE aluminum radiator
Front door panels (new from Roger tii, in the last two weeks $650)
Extra front fender (driver side)
Used spare wheel well (I removed the old one since it was rusted)
extra gas tank (used, great condition)
Extra set of door panel backing (wood)
Other misc parts that need to be inventoried
Other items worth mentioning; hood is in good shape but it will need the trunk lid since the current could be fixed but you will be better off finding another one. The pasenger side door looks it was replaced at some point. The rust in the car is minimum considering the age, around the pedal box, very little at the bottom of one fender and some small spots in the rocker panels. Floor boards are in great shape and so are the shock towers. I will throw in a one owner 1975 02' that was given to me recently, I was hoping to restore this one to original condition but it has rust in all the wrong places (shock towers, etc) therefore it will make a nice donor car (it was recently listed in the Tejas Chapter) Finally, the reason for posting here is hoping that someone in the area will be interested since I have no plans on assisting with shipping because of my limited free time. Also it would be easier to inspect and make sure I am being accurate with my description. I will consider parting out as last resort... Thanks!
(Not sure how successful I'll be posting pics but feel free to ask and I will e-mail as many as needed)

Guys, I have a pair of Recaros in pretty decent shape, reason for posting here is that I am not looking to ship therefore hoping someone in this area may be interested, the brackets are not exactly for 02' but could be easily adapted. The bottom cushion on the driver side needs some TLC, please see pics, looking to get $250. Feel free to contact me via e-mail javistor@aol.com. Thanks!

I went to look at this car today, just as advertised, well and honestly described!

Interested in the dual webers, price?

I'm trying to conjure a logical explanation for this one but the short fuse in my brain just popped...

FYI - I've heard the spare tire well from an E30 can be welded into our '02s. The E30 spare tire well is slightly larger than the '02 but is supposed to fit with very few modifications.
Thanks for the info, it is definitely worth to try since those are much easier to find. Thanks again!
