The more time you spend putting parts designed for other cars or applications the less time you spend driving it.

Save the time and headache. Get the new shoes and wheel cylinders, spend around $100 and have peace of mind.

A complete drum rebuild should take about 5-10 minutes per side.

Get the drums turned and Bob's your uncle.

So the answer is no, you will need to smog test it.

just hung the doors on the car I am helping restore. The key we found to hang them is to have someone in the car tightening the bolts while someone on the outside is aligning the door. This took about 5 minutes total.

ooohhh chrome header. PRETTY!! I heard the chrome adds 4-7% HP gain. The price for these are ridiculous.

use a ball joint puller.

leave the castle nut on about three or four full turns. This eliminated the ball joint from shooting across the garage floor.

I work for Kraft-Nabisco and have been doing it for 16 years, and love every minute of it. I have had the same employer since I graduated from high school. I currently have a AA degree and that works for me.

From 2005 through 2009 I was one of the hiring managers and saw thousands of resumes from different schools and many different majors. The first question I would ask people was, " Why not look for something in your field that you majored in?" Almost 100% of the time their answer would be, " I am not really interested in doing that anymore."

As for what to major in, it does not matter. As long as you have fun and APPLY yourself.

Also, just remember to get the best Return on Investment that you can with your education. Don't spend 50K on an education to not use it. The internet and a library card would have been a better choice.

This is just MY OPINION.

It probably would be easier to put the smog stuff back on to get the certificate.

I had the same issue about 18 years ago when the smog year was 67. I had a 68 VW and it had to be smog tested. There was no possible way to get mine to pass any of the tests. It was easier to put the smog stuff back on and get legit smog paper work.

This is not my car.

I saw it while driving to work the other day. It is located under the 60/10 freeway interchange.

It is located in Downtown Los Angeles on the corner of Olympic and Wilson.

Guy is looking for $1200. And is willing to sell. I would try to buy it but i don'd have anywhere to park it.

I checked out the interior, looks pretty clean. The exterior is straight,but it has a door ding on the passenger door. Car has been repainted some metallic blue.

P.S. - DONT GO AT NIGHT.

1. Did you try all the bleeder screws.

2. A little trick I have done in the same situation, is to open bleeder screw and stick a paper clip into the opening. Use the paper clip like a poker. It will pop any air bubble or free up any debris that is clogged.

Saw this on VH1 tonight. Maybe some else has seen this. They blow the car up!

Wait until you get the motor in the car. Then take freeway onramp at 65mph. Look in review mirror at the grin on your face. Then ask yourself is the suspension too stiff.

Did pretty much the same on the front end of a 72. Seem a little stiff, but after driving it around the "Grin" out weighed the worry about it being too stiff a suspension.

Do not run motor!

Do an oil change. Exhaust may smoke a little to burn of access oil.

My sister's car's oil light came on, she filled it with oil until you could see it at the valve cover. Draining it filled my entire oil change bucket twice! Car smoke for a few days!! I told her to go to jiffy lube from now on if the light come on.

I have seen Subaru STi motors in some bugs. Crate motor is in the 265-300 HP range. If you crap $100 bills this is the conversion motor to have for a VW.

Power to weight ratio is insane. This stock motor will put you in the 10 second range.

I would also check to see if the coil to distro wire is connected properly. Also a condenser is a cheap part to replace. I always replace the points and condenser and the same time.

It sounds as if it is a simple fix, just overlooking something obvious.

I needed to put a spacer on the car I am working on. It solved the problem of rubbing/grinding.

I used a steel washer I got at the local hardware store, about 15 cents.

I put the washer (2 of them, one on top and one on bottom.) between the caliper and strut assembly. This will then center the caliper to the disc/rotor.

Order is Bolt through caliper through washer/spacer through strut assembly then onto the other side of caliper.

Isn't there a filter at the gas tank?

The filter near the pump would then be the second filter.

As long as there is a filter before the Carb, it really doesn't matter. Some motor need it before and some after.

Had the same issue. I checked out everything under dash and all bulbs.

I then checked the FUSE.

It was burnt out.

Problem solved.
