(nt) I didn't make it to my friends storage in time. I will get more photos tomorrow during the day with a real camera.

LSD bought from a fellow faqer. excellent condition e21 lsd, ratio is 3.91 Never got to finish my 02 project. 5speed pulled from a local junk yard. Shifts positively, no slop/ 5 speed comes with guibo, new clutch slave, 5 speed install bracket (also bought from a faqer) and other seals and things I've collected for the conversion.

thank you for all the replies. I have since removed cable at the speedo. The needle was sitting at 60mph and I had to knock on the speedo to bring it down. Please advise. now what?

It just started doing this.

Front and rear seats out a 76 '02. vinyl is in good condition. Looks to be recovered sometime back. drivers seat works perfect. passenger seat wont recline but will flip forward. Getting racing seats and going racing. come see them and make an offer. More photos of needed. Los Angeles area

I was doing a little cleaning under the 02 and noticed a sound. This piece seems to be loose. Just loose enough to rattle. I haven't had the car long enough to know if its supposed to be .The bolt though it that connects to the bushing is tight.

how off is the offset of your rims?

I have 13" Gottis, not sure of offset

condition of the front upper shock mounts?

Everything looks good(bearings ruber etc.)

if you replaced those mounts? did you install

the washers and spacers correctly?

any oil inside the steering gear box? you CAN oil that

with SAE 90 Hypoid Gear Lube

checked oil, its fullish

what's been done to the steering column?

no recent repairs

did you ever drive/own this car when the steering did

center itself ?

no

alignment ? any thing changed with that ?

will get it aligned shortly

any bent tie rods ?, bent center steering link?

too tight idler arm bearing? Center link rubbing

against the trans housing? got anything rubbing

or interfering with the steering column coupling

at the top of the steering gear?

nothing obvious

got broken motor mounts ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

....and how are your brakes ?

I find myself having to shuffle the steering wheel out of turns. Im used to cars returning when you 'let go' of the wheel . I recently bought a manual to find out how to service the front end. It says there is nothing to lube. What would make it want to do that? btw everything feels great. no clunking or wandering or pulling. new tires also... thanks faq.

Unfortunately I do not. my mechanic says I have a mc off of a 5 series.he says its identical to the ti one minus the check valve for drums.

the one that goes between the rear line and the master. My car has the later 5 series master but no check valve

thanks guys for the knowledge. I will see if I can see any obstructions with the valve breather.

(update) I took the time to call Ireland Engineering and they did confirm that other people were having the same problem with the oil. What solved it for me was to redirect the valve breather to a catch bottle instead of to the air filter housing. The fitting at the air filter housing (the aftermarket rectangle kind) was too restrictive.

the o- ring came new with the ie distributor but I can change it again. The special washer is still on the 9 o'clock bolt.

Im curious why so much oil pressure in this rear housing? its actually pushing oil up the distributor shaft

Hello board. I recently acquired a 76 '02 and am in the process of getting her road worthy. In my time spent under the hood I have witnessed the distributor leak oil on to the exhaust and thus make smoke. the distributor has 4 holes underneath the 'top' and somehow oil is getting pushed up the shaft and leaking out? I should add that it is a new distributor from ie.

is there that much oil pressure in the distributor housing? what gives?
