**Under-Seat Fiberglass Sub Enclosures**

I am finally able to offer for sale, a custom designed sub enclosure that installs under the passenger rear seat.

Following the concept of the kick panels I offer, I kept this as functional and discrete as possible, while providing a considerable audio upgrade, and ease of installation.

The model for this enclosure was molded from the floorpan of a 2002. After shaping, test fitting and reshaping, a mold was made to produce them in fiberglass.

The final product is designed to provide clearance for the seat springs, leaving the rear seats fully functional for anyone under 180 lbs.

I test fit it into my car, and bounced on the seat as one would in normal driving conditions and experienced zero spring to enclosure interference.

Due to clearance issues with the seat suspension, I built the enclosure around the JL Audio 6.5" 6W3V3 driver, which has a 5.5" cut out.

The internal volume of the box is approximately .35 cu. ft. Which is almost spot on for the 6W3v3 in a sealed enclosure.

There are other brands of 6.5" drivers. But I like JL from past experience.

FOR CLARITY: I DO NOT PROVIDE THE SPEAKER OR AMP.

While there is room vertically to install the 8" variety, the overall diameter could present a challenge. But hey, you're free to add a port and get clever. Here's a calculator to help with that: CLICK HERE

The enclosure will ship in white gelcoat with a 5.75" speaker cut out, and the two post terminal installed in the location shown in the photos (I can ship without the terminal cut in, if you so specify). In the carton will be the sub box to body insulation strips.

Sub enclosure: $175.00

Kick Panels: $175.00

Sub Enclosure and Kick Panel Kit: $300.00

All prices plus shipping

For those who have purchased the kick panels in the past, and wish to purchase the box, please email me for special pricing.

I just received my sub enclosure from eurotrash and thought I would post a review. I’ll start by saying that I have had the idea of putting a sub under the rear seat for awhile too. I have all the fiberglass materials, JL sub and 2 fiberglass forms I started to prove it. What I didn’t have was the time to complete the project or the know-how to make my forms into a complete enclosure. When I saw that Jason had complete enclosures now available along with his kick panels, I immediately ordered a kit.

The enclosure came extremely well boxed. Initial impression is that for the price, it rivals anything available from Q-forms or JL Stealthbox. It was very solid and fit underneath the seat perfectly. Crutchfield wants $699 for the JL Stealthbox that would fit in my 4Runner - ridiculous!

I mounted the JL 6.5” sub and temporarily installed it in my 4Runner where I have a 12” JL sub and Kicker amp rated at 380W bridged (overkill I know but I have had it since high school lol) I connected the enclosure up to a single channel which is rated at 125W. I hadn’t heard the JL 6.5s so wasn’t sure how well it would perform. I was very impressed! The sub is very tight and the enclosure sounds very solid. I cranked it up quite a bit and the sub and enclosure held up just fine. There were no rattles or odd resonance whatsoever. Sure, it didn’t kick as much as my 12” but that is understandable. The enclosure will have no problem adding fill to any sound system in a 2002 (and still allow you to hear the engine!)

I would recommend Jason’s kit to anyone. You can tell that he has put a lot of time and effort into it. Now if I can just get him to make one for my 4Runner :)

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
