  1. Hello all, This is an ignition switch for a 1967 - 1976 2002. This switch has no key, but is otherwise in good condition, and it has a date code of 1974. It along with a few other parts I found in one of my 2002 spare parts boxes in my garage. Realoem shows a list price of $339.61, but this part is NLA, (no longer available). All shear bolts have been removed for an easy install. I'm guessing a key blank is around 10 dollars (I bought one last year for 8 bucks + shipping), and a locksmith might charge 50 bucks to make a key. So my price of $60 is fair in my opinion. Please message me with your address for a shipping quote. All sales are final. Message me with any questions before buying. I accept PayPal. Thanks, Happy Motoring
  2. Set of Campagnolo Ragno 6x13" 4x100, et13 wheels. Excellent condition, successfully refinished in astral silver semi gloss. Rare find & comes with brand new 175/70 R13 PIRELLI Cinturano CN36 tires. Would love to keep these but found out the hard way - brakes are too big (they don't fit the IE rear disc brake kit) so going with a different setup. Comes with matching lugs. Some marks on the inner side of 2 wheels where it rubbed against the calipers Local pick-up preferred. Price doesn't include shipping
  3. FS: Set yellow Cibie bulbs covers. Price 65 euro + shipping.
  4. What: Selling 1974 BMW 2002; manual 4 speed, standard differential. Price: $4000-$8000? Really I have no idea what the market is these days, so really best offer. I mean it's getting sold, and I would prefer to do it on the FAQ and not have to go over to eBay. I wouldn't mind hearing opinions on price range in the comments. Local pickup preferred but not a deal breaker. Time: I'd like to make it happen by early October. If not then it will have to wait until mid November. Photos In a Google album. Ask if you'd like any other views. https://photos.app.goo.gl/DJeT78sqmJYG8vmo9 About the Car I'm the third owner, bought in 2005 in the Bay Area. Daily driver for six months. Cracked cylinder head and did an engine rebuild and other improvements. In storage from 2006.5 to 2008. In 2009 more work. Drove cross country. Since 2009 it's been in my garage in Pittsburgh. Periodically turned over the engine. Last driven outside in 2017. Currently immobile. My friend started a teardown to tackle rust and braking but passed away. Brake system and gas tank removed. Clean title in my name. Still the California title -- I never transferred to PA. Last registered in CA in 2009. Health Body: bad rusting in floor panels (I do have a new passenger side floor panel). Bubbling surface rust on parts of the roof and trunk. Front panel below bumper doesn't look great. Small dent on hood over radiator cap. Otherwise panels look good. Bumpers removed (I have them). Passenger side rear view removed (I have it, though I also have nicer chrome mirrors). Engine and drivetrain: I rebuilt the engine in 2005/2006 and it has probably about 4000 miles on it. See my notes for an itemized list of work. Rebuilt the clutch. Never touched the transmission or differential, no known problems. Replaced various accessories (starter, alternator, voltage regulator). Steering box is still acceptable but the adjustment screw is running out of thread. I do have a good used steering box from 02 Salvage in Hayward back in 2009 with 2 or 3 threads exposed on the adjustment screw. The battery tray is a hot mess and needs to be redone. Fuel and exhaust: fuel tank removed, no known defects. It looks kind of ugly with surface rust (see picture) but I think that's because my friend was powder coating the exterior and wasn't happy with it and stripped it off and didn't get a chance to redo the powder coat. Exhaust pipe from end of exhaust manifold to tailpipe was installed new in 2009. I have what appears to be a new exhaust manifold but for the life of me I can't remember where or when I got that. Weber 32/36 with K&N air filter. I rebuilt the carburetor. Brakes: front calipers and rear drums removed (I have the parts). Brake lines removed and discarded. In my notes I wrote that I replaced the front calipers and brake pads in 2009, but the calipers clearly have a lot of surface rust on them now. Electrical: no work done on this other than new ignition components in 2009. Engine timing seemed to be a bit erratic and low speed and I had some rough idle so the distributor may need some love? Fuel level sensor went through periods where it was noisy -- I never spent time clearing a good ground for it. Wheels and suspension: I think the previous owner redid the rear shocks circa 2004. Tires are low mileage but are also from around 2004. They hold air without issue. The rear sway bar seems to have been removed (I have it). Some very minor cosmetic marks on the wheel rims. Paint: looks like a non OEM color the previous owner painted over the original light blue. Paint flaking away at a few points on the roof, especially close to the windshield. Glass: good clean glass, no cracks. Rear window defroster doesn't seem to work and I never investigated the reason. Passenger side window seems to be binding up and I didn't want to force it. Probably just a case of needing to lubricate to free it up. Interior: carpeting, center console, seats and seat belts are removed (I have all these parts). Some tearing in the driver seat and the top of the rear seat. Passenger seat cushion was reupholstered since the horsehair fell out. Door panels, door handles, and window cranks are all good. Rear speakers and ashtrays. Headliner and sun visors are all fine. HVAC: the heater worked though was sluggish. I haven't investigated. No A/C. Other known problems: * Small oil leak around the back of the engine. I seem to remember this was near the rear exhaust port on the manifold but I don't know. It wasn't a big enough leak to be obvious for the source. * When getting the odometer working again, the speedometer torsional spring lost one rotation, so the reported speed is a bit off. * The horn doesn't work due to a broken slip ring. Known missing parts: I had to scramble to get everything back together after my friend passed away. I __think__ I have everything except for what is listed here, but YMMV. * The three pedals and levers all seem to be missing. * The trunk floor panels. * The windshield washer reservoir. I do seem to have the washer pump and remember that working. Additional Parts Additional parts that come with the car (only listing the notable items): * Passenger side floor panel. * Steering box. As mentioned above I bought this at 02 Salvage in Hayward during my parts stockpiling phase. It has two or three threads still exposed on the adjustment screw. * Cylinder head. See picture. I don't remember the provenance for this -- I believe it is healthy but I can't remember if I had it pressure tested. Basically after cracking my cylinder head I managed to buy two and this is the one that I didn't install. * New exhaust manifold. * New front brake rotors. Tho they have been sitting for 13 years so there are spots of surface rust. * Two camshafts (as well as rockers, valves, springs, etc.). One of them is marked as a Norris 301 cam -- it came with one of the cylinder heads I bought and I remember it had more aggressive lobe angles, but I didn't write anything down about them. * Chrome sideview mirrors. These don't have the same mounting footprint as the plastic mirrors currently mounted. * A battery, new in 2017 that has been periodically put on a conditioner and trickle charger. Not Included In my pictures, the wheel dollies are not part of this sale.

  6. I have a 1973 BMW 2002 project that I am reluctantly putting up for sale. I bought this car two years ago for my son and me to work on. We have disassembled most of the interior and had begun some of the bodywork. Most of the panels have surface rust but are very straight. Both front fenders were quite rusty and I have replacement panels. The driver's side floor board is completely rotted, including part of the subframe that supports it. I have purchased new floorboards for both sides and the subframe itself. The spare wheel area in the trunk is also rusted (as usual) but the rest of the car looks fairly solid. Unfortunately, neither one of us has the time, patience, or knowledge to get this little Roundie back on the road as it should be and it's taking up space in my garage for my other toys! As you can see in the pictures, the interior is in good condition other than the carpet. Anyone interested please let me know. I am on the east coast in Warwick, RI. I would like it to go to a good home and to someone that can fix it correctly. If you have any questions or would like any more pictures, please don't hesitate to ask. Cheers!

  11. New Old Stock (12.94) VDO fuel sending unit for sale. Includes rubber O-ring gasket. This is the single-contact version with no contact for the low fuel warning (piggy-backs on the e-brake light). The length from mount to screen is 8 inches or 200mm. Why sell? Too short for my fuel tank, never installed. This is the difference between this new US version 46 liter tank), and the longer EU version (51 liter tank): The resistance for the US unit is 72.4 Ohms on Empty (float at bottom) The resistance at full was about 5 Ohms for both units The longer EU unit has 77 Ohms of resistance on Empty. I was fighting a heavy gas smell in the trunk. My sending unit appeared to be for a standard model 2002, and was all goobered with silicon seal, so I thought to replace it with the correct original equipment. I bought a replacement from BTS in Germany. With the Customs clearance and duty into Switzerland, it was too much hassle, they wouldn't take the return. In retrospect, I jumped the gun. I should have removed and inspected mine first. Upon removal, it turns out the biggest problem with mine was not the pinched-off fuel fitting (that was easy to seal off with epoxy and heat shrink)), the rubber gasket was completely disintegrated. Fortunately, my tank is much cleaner than that mess would suggest! I paid €200 (US$220) for the unit, would appreciate a reasonable offer. Shipping to US is about $20.

  18. I want to express my hearty thanks to the FAQ and all that participate on here. For the last 7 years I've found the board extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating. I couldn't have asked for a better resource for my 1972 2002, "Traumcycle". As all things must change, today "Traumcycle" headed off to a new home. The new owner is on the FAQ so he might choose to introduce himself. Really guys....you're the BEST. Thanks for all of the help and support. Who knows...maybe the "bug" will bite once again.

  20. We are selling a very clean, 1973 BMW 2002, Fjord Blue, on Navy interior, factory sunroof, 5sp conversion, with close to 5k on a matching # engine. Refurbished in 1998 with new paint (front reflectors were omitted for a cleaner Euro look), OEM carpeting, and original seats. No rust, non-smoker, no pets, owned by an elder Enthusiast, always serviced and maintained by BMW Independent Technicians in the Bay area. This is a Clean, virtually rust free 2002, with 'good bones', and a nice example of a well sorted out BMW. Solid rockers, front and rear shock towers, and floor pan, and NO structural rust throughout the car. It has been garaged kept, and never abused. This has been a 'Driver' and not a Trailer Queen Show type BMW. The car has just over 180k miles, and everything, is working. If you CALL FOR DETAILS, on the car, you will get an immediate answer- or response rather then by emails. 65o`344` 111 seVeN Richard asking price is $25k

  22. I bought this car as a project for my son and I. We took two years re-building it to make it a really nice daily driver. It was painted for his 16th birthday. He drove it his Junior and Senior years. Since then, he bought a truck and “Daisy” has been sitting ever since. I drive her occasionally on the weekends. Always stored indoors. Very dependable, starts first time, every time. This is a California car with no rust. I am the third owner (according to the previous owner) and have put hundreds of hours of love, sweat and tears into this car. I really hate to let her go but, I moved about a year ago and have to downsize. Most important…IT’S ALMOST THERE! This will be a perfect car for someone who wants a daily driver with the time to finish a few items on the list. New stuff etc.………………. Newly re-built M10 engine (by Ben at 2002AD) Matching numbers Less than 5k miles New paint “Atlantik” blue I was running out of time and money so, I opted for the $3K rather than the $7K paint job New chrome and emblems New leather seats New carpet New suspension Bilstein struts & shocks Body mounts Bushings New brakes, rotors and drums Re-cored radiator New Weber 34 carb New clutch, PP and slave Fat Man sound deadening throughout Car cover Work in progress……………… Sunroof (it finally gave out) Just ordered new cables Still to do…… Dash is cracked Headliner-it’s new but, not period correct Driver’s side door stop-check Weather stripping – some was replaced Driver’s side control arm I’m asking $14,500.00…………………….contact me at, doliver.1923@gmail.com
  23. 1973 BMW 2002 tii 2762856 (10/72) - Riviera EDIT: Moved to eBay with a high opening bid amount but no reserve: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-2002-tii-/252455581914 After 16 years I am selling my tii; I've realized I no longer look forward to working on it and it is time for it to be loved by someone else again. It is NOT a numbers-matching, concours quality car. I painted it in my garage about 10 years ago. From 10 feet away it looks pretty good; up close there are *lots* of flaws. It has a factory rebuilt euro spec (9.5:1) tii engine (2004, 30k miles ago), rebuilt Kugelfischer pump and new-old-stock injectors. The 4-speed transmission was replaced 10-12 years ago with what appeared and felt to be a newly rebuilt unit that I scored off eBay for around $120 (somebody lost their shirt on that one). I installed a new OE driveshaft in 2006. The car has an electric fan on a late E21 (plastic) radiator controlled by a temperature sensor, plus an override switch using the dummy switch on the console (never needed the override, but it is there). As I said, I repainted the body myself around 10 years ago. The nose, hood, rear panel and driver's side door were replaced with new OE parts at that time. The underside of the trunk lid is the only part of the car with original paint. Panel gaps are not very good between the doors and fenders. The belt line trim was new in the early 2000's, but has suffered from a lot of dings since then. There is no body rust; the pedal box has some surface rust starting. I just installed a new OE windshield. At the time I restored the car, I replaced the front and rear wiring harnesses with NOS parts. One or both of the harnesses (can't remember which) is euro-spec so the emergency brake light on the dash is a low fuel level warning instead. The fuel pump and sender is an in-tank E30 unit instead of the stock tii pump. The battery is in the trunk; up front there is a power distribution box that handles power for the add-ons (headlight relays, electric fan). Suspension is Ireland Stage 1 springs and Bilstein HD struts/shocks. Sway bars are the ST 22/19 kit from Blunt. All bushings were replaced at various points during my ownership. Brakes are stock and have all been touched at some point in my ownership including new metal lines. There are center caps plus spares for the BWA wheels in a couple different styles (but 4 of each). The spare wheel has not been refinished. The interior has a one piece European dash that unfortunately started cracking around the binnacle right after I put it in (sigh...). I installed a GAHH carpet kit two years ago and recovered the front Recaros in black vinyl. The seats are very comfortable and supportive. The headliner fits nicely at the front but it is not right at the rear. No sunroof. Cibie headlights with city lights (and relays for the headlights); Euro turn signals. Rear light assemblies were new units about 12-13 years ago. It has LED bulbs for the brake lights and a third brake light to provide some visibility from behind. What needs to be done: - The oil pan leaks enough to be annoying. After the 1,200 mile trip to the Vintage I needed to add almost 1/2 quart of oil. I keep cardboard under the car when it is parked. - The doors and windows need to be adjusted. I installed new OE seals a year or so ago and the fit is off. - Exhaust leak where muffler connects to the resonator. I replaced the resonator over the winter and removing the old one expanded the fitting on the muffler making for a poor seal. (Note: I may have fixed this, but I haven't driven it enough to be sure yet.) UPDATE: after a couple local drives I don't notice exhaust in the cabin any more. I think this is fixed, but it is something to be aware of. - Tune the engine. I think the combination of 9.5:1 pistons with a US-spec pump leads to some problems with leanness. It will ping at WOT. I was thinking about a 123Ignition distributor to allow for finer timing control, but I never got that far. I do have a wideband O2 sensor installed (digital readout is hidden in the ashtray) so you can see the mixture in real time at least. - The tires are from 2008. Sooner or later they'll have to be replaced and there isn't anything good left in 13" tires. Spares: Ignition components, injectors (4), injector lines, Kugelfischer pump (more of a rebuildable core than anything you'd want to use directly), E30 in-tank fuel pump, guibo, belts, rear trunk seal, brake rotors, ...and whatever else I find stashed away in the house.
