  2. Hi, I have a beautifully restored 1976 BMW 2002 for sale. I am the third owner of this vehicle and I can happily say that I gave her a second life. The car was originally purchased in North Carolina. The body and interior was (and still is) rust-free and clean. I did a full mechanical and electrical restoration in Maryland and then moved it up to Connecticut for added cosmetic additions. Below is a full list of service done over a two-year period. I've been enjoying the car as is for the last two years. - Custom painted in Verona Red with a Black roof. - Custom Black and Red Vinyl interior with custom BMW Black and Red leather wrapped steering wheel. - NO RUST (wheel wells, shock towers and spare wheel all clean). - Clean dash (no dash cracks) and new center console with BMW shift knob. - New "period correct" stereo with speakers installed in both doors (CD player does not work). - New antennae. - Brand new levers, switches and instrument cluster (mileage unknown, would guess around 150,000 miles). - Original 4-speed manual transmission. - E30 (1st-gen 3-sereis) engine installed (I believe it's an M10 engine). - Carburator removed, FUEL-INJECTION system added with an ELECTRIC IGNITION. - Installed LED lights in the instrument cluster and under the dash (floor lights up when the doors are open). - New front windshield and added tint to the side windows. - New rubber door moldings and chrome inserts. - E30 bottle cap wheels. - Replaced the axle and brand new steering tie rods. - Brand new suspension: SACHS and BILSTEIN shocks. - Installed brand new electrical in the car and added fog lamps. - New fuel level gauge within the fuel tank. - Realigned the doors and adjusted all locks. - Brand new alternator and belts. - Installed seat belts (shoulder belts). - New BMW emblems on the vehicle. It's a really fun car that has taken on a new life and a new personality. If you're looking for a fun, modern restoration on a classic, this is your car. The vehicle is located in Fairfield County, CT. Local pick-up only. Please feel free to contact me via email erhardt.id@gmail.com with any questions or to set up a test drive. Asking $15,000 / OBO *** I will add more detailed photos soon ***
  3. Anyone have a guess what the top-end value could be for the following: '73 non-tii, just completed frame-off restoration in factory Turkis, 5 speed upgrade, ac, sunroof, documented rust and accident free, engine rebuilt by recognized '02 mechanic, one owner for 30 years, NOS lights/trim/bumpers/etc., completely re-done dash by Just Dashes, and completely new interior? I don't see cars of this caliber for sale in the usual places (ebay, AT classics, etc.), and I suspect they change hands out of the public eye. Just curious if anyone has any data (or even data points). $30k? $40k? Lots of far less desirable cars have sold for $20k, so I'm sure the number is north of that, but don't have a sense as to how high a non-tii like this could go. Attached pics taken after paint job. Reassembly in progress now. Thanks.
  4. This 1974 BMW 2002tii is a modified example that was refurbished in 1990 and received a BMW factory-remanufactured 2.0 inline-four in 1999. The engine was installed by Tom Cleave of AutoBahn, a certified BMW mechanic in Marina Del Rey, CA. Larger E21 brakes have been added up front, and the suspension benefits from Bilstein shocks and aftermarket springs. The exterior has been refinished in a custom grey and E30 aluminum wheels have been added. FloFit front seats are installed and the rear bench-seat and headliner have been reupholstered. It is now being offered with service records from 1995 to present with a clean California title. Originally finished in Malaga, this 2002tii has been in California for the past 25 years. The color was changed to a custom grey during the refurbishment in 1990. Later model 14″ E30 wheels have been fitted and 320i brakes have been installed up front. Suspension has been modified with aftermarket coil springs and Bilstein shocks. Less than 4,000 miles ago the brake pads, rotors and drive-shaft coupling were replaced. Locking gas cap. Some damage is present on the passenger side quarter and rear bumper due to a parking incident. Some warping can be seen above the wheel-arch and is highlighted in the gallery. This was a low speed (5 mph) parking accident that occurred while parallel parking. The passenger side bumper caught the driver side bumper of the rear car while backing up. No high speed collisions have occurred during the ownership of the cart from 1995 to present. The FloFit seats exhibit some tearing and sheepskin covers are included with the sale. A Pioneer head-unit has been installed and four subwoofers are mounted beneath the seats are powered by an aftermarket amplifier located the trunk. There are 10 speakers total by Boston Acoustic. Seen above the head-unit, aftermarket gauges for monitoring oil pressure and temperature are mounted in the center console. The headliner was recently reupholstered and the backseat was reupholstered in 1990. The odometer currently shows 42k miles. In 1999, a remanufactured M10 2.0 liter motor was purchased from BMW at a cost of $5,533. The Kugelfisher injection system remains installed and maintenance performed within the past 2,000 miles includes an injection pump rebuild, new fuel filter, distributor cap, ignition rotor, and Bosch coil. An ArtSpeed strut brace has been installed up front. Synthetic oil has been used throughout the ownership with all maintenance performed on a regular basis. An original owner’s manual, BMW workshop manual, sun-shield, spare door-stop and other miscellaneous parts are included with the sale. Thank you for looking.
