  1. I am redoing some of my wiring as my harness is looking sad as hell. I was curious what this is? Looks like the starter relay? SR 9571 on the side, some of the wires aren't hooked up to anything. Guessing it might have been for the A/C that got deleted.

  3. Hi Folks, For the past year I have been modeling and printing some NLA parts. One of the more popular items is the white base for your can relays. This whole endeavor has been kind of an exercise to help my fellow members of the e9 forum. I'm selling this nearly at cost, plus a little $5 margin on top of the order to help me recover my modeling costs. They aren't cheap, and that is primarily because 3D printing is still rather expensive. Anyway - for those of you that just NEED to have fresh bits in your engine compartment, take a look. Total for three is around $60. Again - that is the cost to print plus $5. Shipping is free when you order three. If you want to order one, you will end up paying close to $35 after shipping and my $5 overhead, so it doesn't make much sense. Shoot me a PM if you are interested. Thanks!   4. I'm installing LED lights front and rear, and, according to a recommendation, I also want to change the relay flasher. However, the stock relay has three terminals (49, 49a, 39, and KBL), but the Superbrightleds relay has only three: 49, 49a, and 31; it's missing the terminal for the Blk/White wire which goes to K 8 on the twelve-pin plug for the dash. I've already tried "Search" with no success. Any suggestions? Thanks! Fran Ferrance
  5. Removed from the same car a 1973 2002 carbureted. I tested the relay in the last picture and it works as a nomally closed relay that opens the circuit when energized. There is a tiny rattle inside the speed relay. Regulator sold. $25 for other two shipped to US with paypal friends (preferred)
  6. I've been cleaning out my garage and had forgotten I had this. It's a Hella Flasher Relay for a 2002. Mine is a 1974, but if your pinout is the same it will work on yours. I've converted my 02 to LEDs all around and can't use this flasher any more and had put it in a parts box. 2002 flashers new, are at stupid ridiculous prices over $125.00! Flasher works fine and is the correct pinout with numbers -- 31, 49a, 49 and C. Buy mine for 50 + USPS Priority shipping and save a bunch. It's used, but works great! And the way I remember, it has a distinctive click sound.

  8. Looking for a relay receptacle to place into the 4th empty slot in the bracket on the driver side inner fender wall. It would be the receptacle used for the hi-low beams and/or horn.   9. I just found out that the person who installed my electric fuel pump did not install any type of safety switch. I now need to install an inertia switch and a fuel pump relay. I know how to install the relay for the fuel pump but the other one I have no clue. I've look for information the whole weekend and came up empty handed for a step by step or a wiring diagram or anything to help with this installation. If anyone can help with this I'll be very grateful. Does the installation change the way the relay is wired? As I said I have no clue as where to start. Thanks................willie002
  10. Hello, helpful people. I'm considering replacing the dummy pull knob with a fog lamp switch and turning it into an anti-theft cut-off switch between the ignition switch and the starter motor (Pull to start/Push back in to frustrate thieves). I've read a bit on the back forums to get a sense of what works. I have to. I might be an electrical idiot. I know I need to run it through a relay, but I want to make sure it's the right one. So, questions: 1. Black wire, right? 2. 50 amps? 3. If 50 amps, should the relay be 50 amps or, just to be safe, 60 or 70 amps? Would that, in fact, not be safe at all? 4. Wiring that relay: essentially like wiring fog lamps? 5. Any safety considerations you'd like to add? Thanks for any input.
  11. I believe these are referred to headlight relays. They go by the voltage regulator in brackets on square light cars. Tested and working. Asking $23 for the pair shipped to lower 48 w paypal friends.

  16. I’m currently working through wiring on my ’72 tii. I’ve found some interesting work from the PO that I’m trying to fix. Two of the most interesting “quick wiring” is the yellow and red wires in the photo below that were sent straight to the fuse bracket vice properly wired. The yellow wire traces back to the radio plug, and the red wire traces back to the fog light relay. I’m not about to put it back together in the same configuration, as it isn’t visually appealing, nor safe. See attached edited wiring diagram for how the wires are routed, and see attached photo for visual on how the wires go straight to the fuse brackets. I also noticed that the double red wire on the no. 8 terminal, and double green wire on the no. 9 terminal are wrong, and should be on the no. 7 and no. 10 terminals, respectively (looking at the Haynes wiring diagram, and the Prospero’s wiring diagram). In the attached edited Prospero’s diagram, the arrows indicate how my car is currently wired. I have a couple questions based on these findings: Why would one switch the terminals at the fuse box for the double red, and double green wires? How should I safely wire in the radio plug wire (yellow)? Can I just remove the connector on the double green, include the yellow wire, and crimp on a new connector? I don’t see a radio listed on the wiring diagram (besides the one I just “drew” in), so where should the wire connect to the fuse box (or where does the radio get power from)? How should I safely wire in the fog light relay? Right now, the fogs are set to only get power when the headlights are on. They are turned on by using the green “dummy” switch that many people use for fog lights, but that switch doesn’t get power unless the headlights are on. I like that aspect of it, but don’t like the whole “wire straight to the fuse bracket” part. I’ve been searching on the forums, and will continue to do so, but this is my first time with getting deep into wiring. I like to ask y’all in addition to searching, because I almost always learn something new. Thanks in advance.

  18. Hello All, Has anyone wired in a Relay for their Fuel Pump? Recently I noticed my 16 gauge wire with connectors was scorching the connectors and breaking contact with my 5 series pump, after 2 years use. The Tii harness seemed to be the same gauge wire. I'm looking for a Ground Trigger Source I tried to "Search" but couldn't find something for other than Horn or Fog lights
  19. I just bought this light off ebay. Hopefully a round light won't look to bad on a squaretail. I plan to wire it up according to Mike Pugh's rear fog/third brake light diagram. Searching turned up tons of references to the schematic, but with all the broken links in old threads it took quite some work to find it. As such, I am reposting it here so it may turn up in other's searches more easily. In my case it will be a rear fog and fourth brake light, as I have an LED strip at the top of the rear window. However, I would like to add one more function. Because I have had the joyous experience of stalling on a highway with no shoulders, just beyond a blind turn, and having to wave frantically to get cars to change lanes and not total my car (after my flares burned out), I would like to increase my visibility when using my Hazards. I'm looking for feedback on my modified diagram below, if anyone sees any errors please let me know, I am not the most experienced auto-electrician. I presume there is no problem that the original relay will be getting power (at 30) when it normally would not. Alternatively, I will try to find the wire behind the hazard switch that triggers the flasher relay instead of using a 3-way switch (should be easy when I am in the car to find this, trying to make sense of the wiring diagram I have seems near impossible). If anyone knows what wire this is off the top of their head it would be appreciated. Lastly, I hope to mount the light on my rear bumper (I'll drill a whole since I have ugly big bumpers anyway) near the left tail light. I have seen from my searches that roundies have a plug that can be used to run the wiring into the trunk. It does not appear that my car ('76) has that plug. Does anyone have suggestions for running the wires in the car short of drilling a new hole and adding a grommet? Thanks! I'll update this post with installed pictures when its done.
  20. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced their turn signal relay flashing faster over time? I purchased an old e9 with an extremely fast flasher relay, luckily I switched in a spare from my 2002 and it worked fine......for a while. Now when I switch on the turn signal, I notice it is flashing a little bit too fast. Is this a normal problem due to age and the car sitting over time? (worn/corroded contacts) Or is my electrical system to blame ie. voltage surge, improper wiring etc... And how can I fix the problem other than replacing the old relay with a new unit? Are the relays adjustable or repairable? This is just something I am curious about and would like to know if anyone else has asked these same questions. Thanks in advance, -MF
  21. Anybody want to venture a guess as to what these couple parts are? The first 2 pictures are of a bracket attached to the drivers side of the engine, near the oil pan. It has a broken front loop. My guess is it is/was an A/C bracket, thoughts? The second picture is of an electrical nature, I know this because there are wires going into these things hahaha. The black relay is for the horn. My question is about the 2 things to the left and the one to the right. I'm thinking that the left ones are headlight relays, but I wasn't aware that these were on 6 fuse cars (installed by a PO?) I have no idea what the thing is to the right of the horn relay.
