  3. Did some work on the exhaust... I was hoping to save the pipes, but I've decided to replace the parts. I think that I'd just be chasing my tail if I tried to patch it up. Put in an order at Pelican for: Muffler (Front) Brand: Ansa Note: (1968 BMW 2002 Base Coupe) Part #: 18-12-1-245-265-M125 Muffler (Rear) Brand: Starla Note: , Fits Auto Transmission (1968 BMW 2002 Base Coupe) Part #: 18-12-1-245-484-M235 I also orderd some hanger parts and gaskets... With some luck I'll be up and running soon.

  6. Price:: $50 Still for sale as of Jan 12, 2017. SOLD. Location: : Aliso Viejo CA Original German stock e10 2002 muffler, resonator, chrome tip, and tubing for sale, local pickup only. No cracks or holes, has some surface rust which can easily be sanded off and pieces repainted. All worked and sounded like a stock 2002 when it was removed. Recently added a new header and IE exhaust so do not need these. In Aliso Viejo CA, 92656.
  7. Just wanted to share: I had seen a post somewhere on here mentioning the fact that 2002's were to be fitted with a muffler tip. I recently went on a BMWCCA drive up to the Lemay car museum, and I had 2 fellow 2002's with me. One of them had a tip installed that reminded me of that posting and thought it looked subtle yet very nice. I've been running a craigslist find 4-1 header with the IE late model exhaust for about a hear and a half now. The first issue was the center muffler is a bit too big and somehow got banged enough to break one of the welds inside. I decided to replace it with single glasspack (much smaller and out of the way) and have been quite enjoying the sound ever since. Though on this recent trip up to the car museum I found a killer buzz around 3200 so I took it into the muffler shop and while I was there, had them put on a simple tip. I'll have to take a side profile photo in the morning, but figured I'd at least post the rear shot as it sits. I think it adds a bit of subtle flair that is very welcome on a car that should have come with it when new. update: added photos. I agree with one of the posts, having a tip that extends a bit more helps with the fumes... I got back from the lemay trip and the lower part of the bumper had some build up.
  8. Hello, I'm looking to slap a Flowmaster on my '02. I love the '02 and all, but think it deserves a meaner or more aggressive sound. I know all have their own opinions on that, so that's all subjective. Either way, I'm looking to put on the Flowmaster Super 10...although, I realize that's one of the most aggressive & loudest ones they offer...I'm thinking that specific one may be an overkill? Couldn't seem to find many videos on flowmasters with the '02's, so was wondering if anybody has any past experience working with them on the '02? Thanks for all suggestions, in advance. P.S. Here's a shot of the '02 I'm working with, feel free to follow me on Instagram for my '02 progress: @SlavikLungu http://instagram.com/slaviklungu
  9. SOLD Ansa exhaust. Center resonator + muffler. Chrome tip. Used 3 months then removed during rebuild tear down. $75 plus shipping.
  10. Price:: 100.00 Location: : Winston-Salem, NC For sale - Bosal center resonator and center-exit rear exhaust - never installed - NOS. i purchase these a couple years ago, sprayed the joints with Wurth Alu-Zinc Paint (because i wasn't ready to install it at the time but wanted to preserve the pieces). I recently sold my 2002, so no longer need either of these. They're in like-new condition - NOS. Location: Winston-Salem, NC
  11. Ray, Here you go. This is because of my bad habits. Because I don't drive my 2002 enough, or long enough - water build up in the muffler finally caused a failure. I had noticed an exhaust leak a few weeks ago, but I thought it was the do-nut between the collector and the resonator. Put it up on the lift today, and found this: Looks like I need a new muffler. The nice thing - getting the old muffler off was about 5 minutes of work. The hardest part was getting the chrome exhaust tip off the old muffler. Ordered a new one. It should be here next week. In the mean time, tomorrow I'm going to change the fuel line from the gas tank to the line under the car.
  12. Anyone have a used supersprint muffler in good cond? Thanks.
  13. Hey there, My Roundie decided that it doesn't like its muffler anymore and broke it in half. Ok ok, it was rusty and needed to be welded or replaced, but it was not nice to brake it on the road. So the car is stuck in Danville, CA right now and I need a recommendation for a shop/mechanic that can fix it. Shouldn't be a big deal but I'd rather not take my chances and go to just any mechanic. So please, good people of this forum, give me some tips who I can trust to get my Roundie back on the road ASAP. Thank you, Matthias
