  1. Hello everyone, I acquired a 1968 02 about a year ago from an elderly woman that came with corbeau racing seats. The PO called me the other day and said she was cleaning out her garage and while doing so she stumbled upon the original seats. She said I was more than welcome to pick them up and so I did. The seats appeared to be in very good shape and she said her husband had swapped them out for the corbeau racing seats very early into ownership of their 02. Now what interested me was a detachable headrest she handed me after I had loaded the seats into my car. She said from what she remembers it came with the 02 and it even matches the color of the seats perfectly. She mentioned it only came with one so if either of them were driving solo the driver would use it and whenever her husband drove with her in it he would attach it to her seat. Why it never came with two? I don't know. I've attached pictures! Has anyone seen this before? Whether it's original or not I think it's pretty neat!
  2. Im not the first guy to do this, and there are other DIY write ups out there on how to do this, but I thought I would throw it up here. Built a GoPro camera mount that bolts to my head rest. Square bar aluminum tubing, two U bolts, two square black plastic furniture end caps (bulk hardware section), and some paint. Ill use a GoPro sticky mount, but if you have a different camera you could also buy a super cheap tripod camera base and screw it onto the aluminum bar. If you would like to use a regular camera you can get one of these for about $7 (with Prime shipping options) on Amazon, or just go to your local Walmart/Walgreens and buy a super cheap tripod so you can scavenge the mounting hardwear off of the top of it. http://www.amazon.com/CMP227-Motorcycle-Bicycle-Handle-Cameras/dp/B00585CLVS/ref=sr_1_2?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1375751762&sr=1-2&keywords=camera+tripod
  3. I had an upholster install new Gahh front seat covers on my 73 2002tii. I have 10mm headrest posts. I purchased new headrest chrome caps (see photo) - part #52101819850. Both upholster and I can't figure out how to get the chrome caps to snap into the headrest plastic guide inside the seat. The guide inside of the seat has ridge and the chrome cap has tabs, so they should lock together. Seems to me the Gahh covers have too much foam attached inside and doesn't allow the chrome caps to snap. I tried a fair amount of force. Any experience or suggestions on how to attach the chrome caps securely?
  4. In the process of recovering/repairing a pair of '73 front seats. Anyone have a Saddle-colored headrest for sale? I need the headrest for the driver's side seat, but I'm thinking that there's no difference between the pass. and driver's side headrest (?).
  5. Looking for replacement headrests for below seats...or just the headrest cover upholstery (aftermarket would be ok) for standard (not Recaro/Sport) seats (1973 2002Auto). Prefer black. 1 or 2.
  6. Hello everyone! I'm looking for a pair of early style headrests for my BMW. It's a 1971 one, with brown interior. I believe it's called saddle brown. Anyway, here's a picture: Obviously I would prefer a set of headrests that match the color of the interior. However, for now any odd headrest will do. I believe that if I get a headrest from the correct year, I should be able to change the cover later, right ? So yea, if anyone knows where I might find such a headrest, I'd be a happy bunny! Edit: as asked, the distance between the headrest holes from center to center is 45 cm.
