  1. I figure I should start a blog now that the engine swap is under way and I have collected enough photos to satisfy the masses. I (and as far as I can tell, many others in this forum) am a VW/Audi person but more importatnly a car person, I can appreciate all... well most... brands and models. Without going into too much detail I have had my share of VWs and Audis. I sold my project Audi Coupe Quattro after thinking I didn't need all the early 90's gizmos in a project car, I did like the car but the list of options is through the roof; from a heated door key hole to the 8 way heated seats. Good bye Audi Coupe. I was looking at E21s and 2002s and came across this E21, it was someone's project and the story was that they acquired an engine and bits from a E21 race car and planned to run those parts on this one. They dropped the motor in and that was the end of the project, with another project underway they liquidated this car, I got a great deal on it. Hello E21 The E21 was a wreck, it would take thousands just to get the car on the road, I knew going into it I was buying the car for the motor to do a swap into a 2002. Fast forward a few weeks and I came across this car on craigslist, it is a 1976 California car living in a storage unit in Michigan, the guy I bought it from was getting a divorce and really needed to get rid of it. The car was originally fjord blue but you can tell it has had a really bad paint job, the paint is faded and peeling off and it is showing some rust but the floors are solid, also there is some bondo but I don't know to what extent... I guess I'll find out if I ever decide to paint it. The car is bone stock, no modifications other than some fog lights.
  2. 1976 BMW 2002 Rounde engine core 2.0L [ VIN 2580495] with 4-speed transmission. Removed in working order from 1976 BMW 2002 back in 1998. Stored inside garage under cover since. Motor does turn over Motor comes with Weber 32/36 DGAV carb. Transmission was in working order when put-up Engine was a replacement motor installed in the car in Mar 1984. Car was retired in Feb 1994. Estimate engine has 55k miles on it. Oil was always changed 2500 – 3000 miles/ Castrol 20w-50 [Northern VA] Price is $650 and would like to do a local sale. Not interested in shipping this.

  4. Price:: 20 Location: : Savannah, TN *SOLD* Shifter boot from a 1976 BMW 2002. $20 USD, price includes shipping to lower 48 states. Alaska, Hawaii or export to other countries at additional cost. It may take me a few days to answer emails or PM. Thanks, Tom
  5. Price:: 25 minimum Location: : Savannah,TN 1976 BMW 2002 Sunroof Model window sales sticker. Serial Number: 2742542. Car was Chamonix with dark blue interior, a 4-speed, with corduroy/leatherette seats, 5Jx13 inch Sport wheels, manual sunroof and 'low' front seats. Known as a "Monroney Label" this is the original, 40 year old document that came with the car listing options, fuel mileage, etc. Also, I have the Auto Dealer's extra cost options sticker; "Supplement to Government Pricing Label". The car was scrapped about 8 years ago and I turned in the title to the scrap yard at that time. The car had been cut apart to save the sunroof clip, but that's now gone. I'll provide a letter with these documents, stating that they're being sold as archival documents and do NOT indicate the sale of this vehicle. Further this letter will state that said vehicle was scrapped in the state of Tennessee. Both documents are aged, torn, weathered, some water damage. Where is, as is. See photos. NOTE: I trimmed off the old tape (shown in the photos) from the edges of the "Supplement to Government Pricing Label". Best offer OVER $25 USD by 1 July 2015. Shipped via media mail, with insurance, unless specifically requested that they be shipped by express mail. Shipped from 38372. Will accept Paypal. Thanks for your interest in my BMW parts. Tom

  8. Hey all bought my 76' 2002 mid November, that day I had it towed straight to the shop. Will be my first time literally getting hands on with a car, but feel led to dive in this time. Since the purchase, the car has been siting at the shop (the mechanics haven't had time to look at it) until yesterday. Being anxious and becoming a member with this forum I said heck with it and had it towed home yesterday. Started to gut it out, and plans are for a M20 getrag260 swap, because I already have the motor and tranny. Ive seen the different write ups with having to cut or hammer out the tunnel and what not with the tranny, but up for a challenge. Any advice will be well appreciated!

  10. 1976 BMW 2002. I have owned this car for 15years and it has been very well taken care of and garage kept the entire time. A very good running and driving example. The car starts up very quickly and drives great. Weber Carb. New battery, tires have less than 1k miles on them. Upgraded bushings all around and shocks. Just did a shifter rebuild and it shifts great. 14in BBS baskets weaves in gunmetal. Hella high beams and low beams. No major rust or body damage. The car has A/C but has been disconnected and will need to be refurbished. This car is very solid and in great condition. I have the original seats and an extra set of bumpers included. Price is firm.
