This car was completed by Karosserie Baur on September 27, 1972 and delivered on October 3 to BMW Autohaus Gerhard Schneider (GS-Tuning) in Freiburg, Germany. It was sold new to the first owner in Milan, Italy on January 31, 1973, and sold to the second owner in Milan on Oct 25, 2011. We bought the car in January 2017 and are the third owners. It has approximately 86,000 miles in 2018. This car served as the example of the 2002 Baur Targa Cabriolet variant at "The ICON," the 50th anniversary of the 2002 exhibit at the BMWCCA Foundation in Greer, South Carolina in 2018. It is equipped with optional factory alloy wheels, Pirelli CN36 tires, passenger rear view mirror, 3-point seat belts, blue/black pepita upholstery, period Petri steering wheel, fire extinguisher, Blaupunkt Munich radio, locking glove box, roadside emergency triangle, a period aftermarket skid plate, the original Italian title and paperwork and the original Milan front and rear license plates.
