  1. And the even more rare FWD model based on the listing haha
  2. Reading this thread - I am close to purchasing a roundie. It is titled in Canada as a 1973 but BMW confirmed a manufacture date of June 7, 1972. Am I correct that the title is in error? Perhaps a typo/error in thinking when originally titled and got carried forward for 50 years? If so, any benefit to correcting error when I bring into US?
  3. Well the dealer has it listed for 21k, seems a good price.
  4. Showing for sale on dealers website https://www.aglautony.com/vdp/17895407/Used-1976-BMW-2002-2002-COUPE-for-sale-in-Latham-NY-12047
  5. Agree on all you said. I was just saying that if a seller pulled auction and updated on becoming aware from someone that would be a positive whereas one that did not would make me question what else they would hide. Unknowingly misrepresenting milage doesn't say much either way to me for the reasons you articulate. As for admitting the rollover - without amazing documentation no one would believe 12k original miles and 112k is next best thing to sell car (unless you realize that it's not original guage cluster which they unlike did)
  6. "This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing." Good news for me as I was considering driving up to look and realized the auction was set to end in 8 hours ... Perhaps someone pointed out the mileage issue to the seller? If that's the issue, it is reassuring that the seller is going to relist - I would be more concerned about the credibility of the seller than the actual meaningless mileage if they knowingly sold a car with unreliable milage #s as being original.
  7. And sold again (3x buy it now + 1 completed auction) and now 2x negative feedbacks. I really wish I could figure out what is actually the story with the car: https://www.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_profile/classic-toys?filter=feedback_page:RECEIVED_AS_SELLER&_trksid=p2047675.l2560
  8. To be fair to the seller, he did say the car wasn't perfect and wasn't show quality, so don't expect it is a total misrepresentation but for me personally the lack of clear documentation and inability to get a viewing was a deal breaker. If someone on here reports buying the car and that it is a good deal, no major problems, I also wouldn't be shocked. Having sold many cars and other things, people definitely waste your time and kick tires and I appreciate it's frustrating. Perhaps he really was just so sick of this that .... but to me that's part of the process and if you don't want to do it, pay someone else to sell your car. If this was a BAT auction with 300 pictures it would maybe be different but the lack or detailed underbody photos and no ability to view car didn't fly.
  9. It sold when listed at 32, was relisted for auction and now relisted again. I wasn't a buyer buy did call the seller about the car as was very interested. The number of pictures wasn't sufficient for me to bid comfortably but was in LA on vacation about 15 mins away from him. I had a one week window available to see the car anytime but he told me his time was too valuable to show cars. I asked for details on work done during rebuild and he said "every nut and bolt was rebuild" but to me that seemed inconsistent with the price and the lack of paper trail offered was troubling. Also said it was a one owner car, but he was clearly not the original owner. Asked if he is a seller (which is fine) and he said he was a collector and it was a one family car "owned by a doctor". I asked if he was part of the family and he said "friend of the family". Not sure why that matters at all other than I got the vibe he was hiding something and walked away. He was very clear to advertise if I used the buy it now he would ship it to me in NJ free of charge but wasn't happy for me to look. Overall might be an excellent car and can't say otherwise, but my experience combined with the 3 relistings makes me too concerned to bid.
