  1. There is also the snorkel on the nose piece a tii, one hint of perhaps damage the required the original nose to be replaced.
  2. Someone here might know the AC set-up. There has been a 73tii for sale on 2002 AD here - https://www.2002ad.com/pages/carsforsale.cfm - that appears to have a similar though slightly different set-up.
  3. All those 02's in one place, now that's a dream backyard.
  4. A Touring in Inka would satisfy both my desire for a Roundie and my love of Inka.
  5. Wow, beautiful looking car. Congratulations and welcome.
  6. @Conserv, my 74tii was purchased and serviced for many years at Manheim BMW. I have records going back to 76, including appraisals of the car by HA Boyd, long-time GM at Manheim. The second owner claims Boyd himself special ordered the car and went to Germany to pick it up in part because his wife had family there.
  7. @fsf517@yahoo.com, thanks, I had passed over that beautiful Mintgrun. That stands as the record for an original 02, not a tii.
  8. They came with the car. The PO had replaced them with Recaros and new door cards, saved it all, passed it along. Plan is to put it all back in.
  9. I have thought about getting my car appraised. The insurer requires one if you want to insure the car for above $50k. Perhaps after the factory leather seats and original door cards are reinstalled.
  10. He is right up against the magic $50K line which no unmodified big bumper 02 has surpassed to my knowledge.
  11. https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/bmw/2002/2526688.html?refer=alert&utm_source=alert&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2021-10-07
  12. There was a 74tii with original bumpers, 5 speed, that was bid to $49K on BaT back in Feb 21. That has been the high water mark I believe.
  13. Thanks gentlemen, as always very helpful.
  14. Anyone ever run across 2002tii mats like these? They came with my tii when I bought it earlier this year. Hard to believe they are original to the car but searching FAQ there was an ad (here: back in 2015 with a similar type of mat that was listed as "authentic." Just wondering if these were an optional mat or aftermarket. thanks
  15. Love the new look of the site and especially like the new logo. Big hat tip to Steve and the rest of the good folks who make this site go. I am a short-timer but have really appreciated the help that folks here have extended me when I've needed it. A really welcoming group and have gotten to meet a lot of great people. Thanks and cheers, Charles
  16. The VIN number would put production around early January 69.
  17. There is something about this car that is calling me but I am supposed to be saving to buy a house.
  18. FYI, the reserve is $2500.
  19. Seller states it is numbers matching.
  20. Couple of more photos the seller sent.
  21. Thanks @Mark92131, I am feeling pretty stupid right about now. And @Autostrada, you seem to have a very good eye and one for detail as well. I know who to call on to help assess on my next purchase! My goal though would not to be to restore the car to original, nice as that might be, but to have a fun driver. Probably the only way I will ever be able to afford an 02 with round tail lights. In any case, I reached out to the seller and he sent me some pictures of the interior and the hole in the trunk floor. He said the car came to him from CA and his understanding was that it was part of a collection of BMWs that were purchased to restore but never done. He believes the original color was Fjord Blue based on the trunk pics.
  22. @johnpeter, thanks for posting, I must have missed this one. Looks in fairly decent shape. Might be a fun project to get back on the road.
  23. @Dugan27, there is going to be some degree of risk with anything you buy and here you get to see the work done from the start. Hopefully the restoration goes well and you end up with a great car you love and can drive the hell out of. Good luck and keep us posted! Cheers, Charles
  24. That is a great price in today's market.
  25. Some very cool pictures, looks like it was a lot of fun tooling around The Netherlands and Germany in your 02. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Charles
