  1. I don’t know Steve, he makes a pretty compelling case to redo the entire interior and address that slight tear in the process!
  2. Called Lucas Classic Tires to order a set of Pirelli CN36's. Having them put on my 74tii the end of next week. Didn't realize until late last fall that the current set dates back to January 2008. Yikes!
  3. @coloincaalpine RIP 2021, that is an absolutely beautiful car, a real stunner. Looks like schwarz, my favorite color. Would love to see more pics.
  4. Really nice work so far. Hope everything goes as planned though you may want to change your blog title to "better than factory" the way things are looking!

It is beautiful. Schwarz? I have a 74tii in Schwarz. Where in ME? I have a good friend in Brunswick, hoping to drive the tii up there someday.
  6. What other colors do you have? Black?
  7. Fabulous article! It has been a long time since I laughed that hard. Thanks for posting it.
  8. My tii is in need of new tires, 185 70R13. 13" options are definitely limited as has been said. I made the mistake of musing aloud about a set of Kumhos but was quickly set straight on the error in my thinking. Unless a set of Vredestein Sprint Classics suddenly appear, the Pirellis are going to be the way to go.
  9. Nice cars gentlemen. My 74 tii has spent its entire life in PA, a lot more years in PA than I have to be sure. I am hoping this will be the year I can make a side trip down from Erie to visit Zenwrench, perhaps the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix in July. Also looking forward to doing Oktoberfest again in Asbury with Steve and his crew. Cheers, Charles
  10. Steve, here is the post, but I likely read it wrong as they do not appear for sale:
  11. There were some for sale here not too long ago. Did you search items for sale?
  12. A tii owner, I have really grown to appreciate and admire the simplicity and beauty of the 1600. If I wasn't saving to put a ring on a certain finger, I would definitely be in the bidding for this amazing vehicle!
  13. I need new tires and was hoping Vredestein Sprint Classics in this size might be in stock sometime soon. No such luck yet. Going with the Kumhos if they are not available by next month.
  14. Absolutely beautiful! It is sure to look even more amazing when you have it all back together. Good luck the rest of the way, look forward to more pictures. Cheers, Charles
  15. Really incredible job, impressive work. Well done!
  16. Nose has been replaced, seams not filled, snorkel, same as was done with my tii 30 years ago. Love the alloys. Agree it looked better with the original bumpers.
  17. Great story, glad you got your Franzi back. As a wise man once told me, don’t look back you’re not going that way. Forward and enjoy! Cheers, Charles
  18. I bought a cover from Covercraft about this time last year when I bought my 74tii. Could have paid less elsewhere but wanted a quality cover. I have been very pleased with my purchase.
  19. Impressed by the word choice, "escutcheon." Don't believe I have ever run across that one before. Learn something new every day. Cheers, Charles
  20. I haven't changed a thing and I don't plan to on my 74tii that came to me last year in a pretty original state.
  21. Thanks @esty, I had trouble posting the link, tried multiple times and I still don't think it came out right.
  22. Please Wait... | Cloudflare COLLECTINGCARS.COM Beautiful Ceylon with Factory AC and Sunroof
  23. @Gordon perhaps I should have added additional qualifiers. The example you shared had Euro bumpers and 5-speed. Stock 74 would have unlikely brought as much. Underscores my point.
  24. Maybe a stupid question but what model years of the 1600's came with the embossed belt line trim? I love the chrome used on these early cars especially the embossed belt line trim and the interior trim piece on the dash. You can just see the handiwork of the green eyeshade accountants over the years with the 1600's and 02's trimming away the extra costs, beefing up the operating margins no doubt.
  25. Looks brand new!
