  1. I don't know, I think Jake here may have the makings of a reality TV show.
  2. Nice pickup! And they will look even better when those Pirellis are mounted on them.
  3. Thanks Steve. Your note made me curious enough to call my local BMW dealer this morning. They confirm the back seat pads are NLA. Fortunately, I don't need them. The front seat pads, bottoms and backs, are in stock. Thanks and cheers, Charles
  4. I have been researching new seat covers and pads for my 74tii. I don't know if the pads are the same through the model years. Having looked at several other alternatives posted throughout this site, I have decided to go with the BMW replacement pads though I have yet to pull the trigger. The BMW dealer gave me the following part numbers: 52111824773L and 52111824774R for the seat bottoms and 52121824775 for the seat backs. The prices they quoted a few months back were: $510.27 each for the seat bottoms, and $327 each for the seat backs, $1675 all in. I did not get pricing on the back seat pads. Pricey I suppose but my seats were originally factory leather so I am going all out to redo them with new leather covers and OEM pads to have them put back in the car. Hoping to offset a good chunk of the cost by selling the relatively new Recaros that are in the car now. Good luck whatever route you decide to go. Cheers
  5. Welcome. Had a 76 Sahara with AC and a sunroof that was my daily back in the day. Had the time of my life in that car though it barely kept you cool in hot, humid DC summers. Happy you finally realized your obsession with your 74. Fast forward, I have Behr AC in my 74tii. When I bought the car last March the PO said she never ran the AC in the 13 years she owned the car. I finally got around to getting the system recharged and immediately ran into problems -- my mechanic said there was a short in the system that was draining the battery. The local radiator/AC shop was extremely hesitant to get into the system beyond the initial recharge. They didn't want to touch the dash (they said they'd need to remove it) and I didn't want them touching anything if they were unsure of what they were doing. I eventually found a place that will work on the AC, the car goes in next month. I am in your same spot, do I go the route of saving the existing AC or putting in a modern system. Good luck whichever way you decide to go. Cheers
  6. Beautiful and meticulous work here, love all new chrome work. A labor love to be sure. Good luck with the rest of your project!
  7. Would love to acquire another 02 to run it as a seasonal daily driver, keep my 2006 330ci zhp as my winter rat and summer driver. Taking my tii in next month to see about putting in a modern AC system, increase my odds of convincing my significant other to take more summer road trips with it.
  8. Very clean car, love the color. Interesting interior color. There was just a 1600-2 that sold on BaT with a similar interior save for the cloth inserts.
