  1. That's a big number. Maybe I am not looking in the right places, but you sure don't see many around today with that many made.
  2. Nice to see that someone is going to save this car. I had a several large limbs fall on my 73 Bavaria in a freak storm a couple of summers ago. Not as bad as this car here but a real punch in the gut after spending a lot of time and money to get the car running again.
  3. @esty you may want to check out Steven Sperling at zoomzoomzooming on Instagram. You can also contact him at zoomzoomzooming@gmail.com. I found him here through FAQ. Most of the members who bought seat covers from him seemed pretty pleased with the quality and price of his product. I have not bought from him but have been scouting new leather seat covers for my 74tii. Good luck in your search. Cheers
  4. Second in line please if HoustonRunner passes. PM sent. thanks
  5. Impressive work here particularly given the amount of time that must have gone into the sales tracking and compiling the data. To Steve's point, it would be important to know the data sources, how extensive or not, to better understand the value and limitations of what you are presenting. Maybe you and 02Les can share databases and cover the entire universe of sales! On the whole, the market still seems fairly strong and steady though a down somewhat from the heady post-pandemic highs when prices on on everything were going through the roof.
  6. Is there anything more polarizing in the 02 world than the big diving board bumpers? Hated as they are in many corners, back in the day they saved my daily driver 76 Sahara from damage more times than I can count from drivers who could not parallel park to save their lives. It is probably why I have always resisted the impulse to change the boards out as much as I like the sleeker look of the earlier models.
  7. The 02 and tii market seems pretty soft right now no matter the condition or need of the particular car.
  8. I have used Montway Auto Transport a few times for my 330ci's though it has been a few years. Was very pleased with their service and the drivers did a good job of communicating on both the pick-up and delivery. Prices were reasonable too, $500, less if you paid in cash! Good luck with your shipping!
  9. I got to see one of these cars up close a couple of years ago and instantly fell in love. This one is gorgeous, just exactly perfect! Thanks for posting.
  10. Pretty amazing transformation. Your gamble paid off. Well done. Now go out and enjoy!
  11. My 74tii is 2781801, 5/9/74 build date. This beauty is the closest I have ever seen to mine. Where is the car posted for sale?
  12. @bavariaboy what is the date of Michael's Oktoberfest for 2023 scheduled so that @JQ02 is aware of that date when he schedules his Paoli Car Show, try to avoid double booking so people can make both!
  13. Here's the link (I think): Grit Cars – Cars for less GRITCARS.COM
  14. It is still up on Facebook Marketplace as of this morning
  15. Not mine but found on Facebook Marketplace in York, PA.
  16. You might want to check out Steven Sperling's work in his eBay store here: zoomzoomzoom-ing | eBay Stores WWW.EBAY.COM We sell Currie Electric Scooters, a variety of car parts, primarily for the more valuable "older" cars and clothing! We also sell tickets to sporting events. It is a strange combination but it is a mixture of both our businesses! The seat covers are period correct and as far as I can tell his prices are pretty competitive with what else is out there. I have not pulled the trigger yet but have been eyeing his leather covers for my 74tii. Best of luck whatever direction you go.
  17. I am in Central PA but have made a few trips down to the Southeast to join @bavariaboy and the Bucks County Rocket Dogs that @Greg Kimber mentioned for drives. The Nittany Bimmers Chapter also does a very popular covered bridge drive through Lancaster County. Would be great if Central and SE PA could meet someday!
  18. My 74tii has a Nardi steering wheel that was installed by the previous owner but when I purchased the car it also came with what I thought was the original steering wheel. My car was manufactured on 5/9/74 so the date code of 5/74 on the back of the wheel would seem to correspond with the manufacture date. I will have to double check to make sure when I get home, but my wheel does not appear to be the "padded leather rim" noted in the model brochure but rather the "padded plastic rim" seen in 75 and 76 models. The old wheel seems like it has seen better days. Not sure the cost or the value in restoring but crazy as it may sound I have thought about removing the Nardi, going back to the stock wheel.
  19. Isn’t the Bavaria the only BMW model with a non-numeric name? I have a 73 in Sahara. Bought it back in 1993 in McLean, VA off the original owner who picked it up from the factory. The car is rusty but structurally sound and is a lot of fun to drive. I have thought of selling it but my son loves the car, tells me it was cutting edge in its time, so I am going to give it to him. Will keep an eye out. Good luck with your search.
  20. I love my Eastern and Western PA friends who have chimed in here and would not hesitate in echoing their recommendations on Paul and Chris. I would also add to the mix Jack Miller of Jack's Auto & Aero in Bainbridge, PA (Lancaster County) who has been servicing BMW's since 1967.
  21. Have you thought about a Want to Buy listing here on FAQ?
  22. Hope it all goes just exactly perfect end to end. Let us know.
  23. That looks like a gas cap.
  24. Now if I could just get a few miles of twisty roads cordoned off and cleared of traffic like that here in PA countryside....
  25. I have used Montway Auto Transport a few years back on three purchases to ship from various parts of the country to Central PA -- 3 BMW 330's but never a vintage car. Open air transport, not enclosed, but Montway was very responsive and relatively inexpensive.
