  1. Thanks NYNick, appreciate the insight. Some of the cars I have seen on there seem a little sketchy so the comments had me wondering. I just bought a 74tii back in February of this year so I probably won't be in the market to buy another 02 for a couple of years but I am constantly looking and hey you never know I suppose if the right one comes along at the right price. I would really like to have a roundie one of these days. What car of yours is available? Thanks again.
  2. I have seen a number of comments from people throwing shade on the Beverly Hills Car Club. They always seem to have multiple 02 listings on Hemmings and Classic Autotrader but the comments I have seen have made me a little wary of every thinking of dealing with them. Are they not a reputable outfit? Any insight on this outfit? Thanks
  3. https://www.2002ad.com/pages/carsforsale.cfm. Many of you here may be familiar with this site but it is the first time I have ever run across it. There looks to be 7 or 8 02's, tii's and turbos available for sale, different years and varying condition.
  4. I will admit that I probably cannot swap out the guibo on my 02, but I did and still do change my own oil. No one would mistake me for a mechanic though so I like to trust my tii those that know what they are doing. Be that as it may, I have never had more fun and pleasure than driving my 76 02 in my youth and my 74 tii today. Cheers!
  5. That’s too bad, will keep on the lookout. Left coast guys may be better placed. Good luck with your search.
  6. Code, I am always looking at what's out there for sale even though I can't afford another 02 right now (someday). In any case, I am no expert nor mechanic, but this one checks some of your boxes: https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars/1972/bmw/2002/101544831. Good luck with your search. Hope you find one that's a fit! Cheers, Charles
  7. I have e21 Recaros from Aardvark in my 74tii that were put in along with new door cards and back seat. The car came with the original leather seats which I am looking to have redone and put back in. I can't let go of them now, but once the old seats are redone I have on interest in holding onto the Recaros. Don't know what they are worth or would fetch. Can anyone give me a ballpark number?
  8. Thank Rob, a great read as always. I just ordered Best of the Hack and can't wait to start reading. I have a 74 tii that has a Behr system. It seems to operate but isn't blowing cold. The PO said he never even turned the AC on in his 13 years of owning the car. I am looking to get it operating again but I am no mechanic. Have no idea what I am walking into, $$.
  9. Beautiful car. Good luck, hope it finds a good home.
  10. It's the only way I would ever be able to own one!

  16. From July 1989, my 76 2002. So many good times.
  17. Hi. Looking for a Behr AC console faceplate for my 74 Tii. Not sure the degree of difficulty in finding one. My email is cbzogby@gmail.com. Thanks
  18. This 1600 is very cool and its originality is highly appealing, and I say that as a new 74 Tii owner. The BAT auction for this car has been a treat to follow with all the former owners weighing in. I have learned a lot about the car and the 1600 series, especially from 02Anders '66 Bible, a great read. Would love to have one of these in my future.

1974 BMW 2002tii US #2781801. BMW Archives confirms a manufacturing date of May 9, 1974, original color Schwarz, with legal delivery to Hoffman Motors, NYC on 6/18/74. The original Bill of Lading shows delivery to H.A. Boyd in Mt. Gretna, PA. Boyd was the Owner and General Manager of Manheim BMW established in 1972 in Manheim, PA. An interview with Thomas Bass, the Sales Manager for Manheim BMW from 1972 to 1982 confirms the car was ordered by Boyd for pick-up in Germany and later shipped back to be sold at Boyd's dealership. Bass stated Boyd ordered the car for his personal use while on vacation in Germany and had the car shipped back to the dealership for sale. The car was subsequently sold to Roland "Rollie" Lane on 10/12/74. Rollie Lane's signature and the purchase date are written in the owner's manual. Later traded in back to Manheim BMW, the car was next sold to Byron Clark of Lebanon, PA on 10/7/76. The sales invoice with Tom Bass' signature shows the car selling for $4539. Byron Clark's service records begin on 11/18/76 at 65,756 miles and end on 11/15/07 at 233,165 miles. The records show extensive body work due to corrosion and new paint, along with major engine work performed in 1992 during Clark's ownership. Photos obtained from the body shop that performed the work are below. After 32 years of ownership, Clark sold the car to Constance Wagner of Hershey, PA in April 2008. Maintenance records indicate, in part, a NOS cylinder head, Ireland distributor, odometer repair, rear shocks and front struts replaced along with clutch slave cylinder. 4th owner as of February 2021. Odometer at the time of sale read 236,655 though TMU. Engine number/body SN match. Includes sunroof, AC, original carpets, passenger side mirror, original factory option alloy rims, and wood shift knob. New Recaro driver and passenger seats, back seat and door cards were installed in 2012 during Wagner's ownership. The purchase also included the original factory leather driver and passenger seats as well as the original door cards.
