  1. I check Germany for used parts often - some parts we like to produce on our own if there is time (plenty in Corona lockdown) and ability to do so. 02 LSD are selling like that are made out of gold so I will be considering e21. All trim and bumpers were straightened no problem with that. Only on rear bumper center piece I missed a few that were only seen after new chrome was applied - so I will repeat the process. About pedals I am not so sure I drove it a bit before taking it apart and was frustrating feeling on the clutch especially with my previous broken ankle.
  2. Niels, I asked guy on IG ˛(@nislasgren02) he has mounted them already. He used Golf Rabbit MK2 rear fenders. So I ordered same 2x rear left and 2x rear right.
  3. Long time no update Got both bumpers back from the shop. Front bumper came out nicely. Side parts on the rear bumper were rusted as hell only chrome was holding them together so after removing chrome there were several holes. Also I noticed the center piece bumper had several dents which were not seen before chroming. I had the centerpiece dechromed again to sort out dents before another chrome job. I took apart quarter windows to have it chromed. Front bottom mount was broken off an

I took apart quarter windows to have it chromed. Front bottom mount was broken off and with some ingenuity we repaired it. Mask was laser welded and I got it back from the chrome shop and put it back together. Had grill slots painted in black maybe I will also have slots of mask wrapped in black for that »tii« look. Also door edge trim was broken, laser welded and new chrome applied. Meanwhile the chassis was transported to the body shop. I had fenders delivered since I would like to have them a bit wider and metal not plastic. Found the idea on IG and contacted the owner about what fenders he used and bought the same. Also got some suspension parts from BMW and poly bushings delivered. Taken apart the pop out mechanism and broke one part doing so. Tried to source it and due to Covid situation and some spare time we simply manufactured it – came out nicely. Had all parts delivered to the chrome shop will post the results. The future agenda is sourcing used side rear bumper parts and restoring long neck differential. Plan is to have LSD in a long neck differential but what I learned for now it is impossible to source LSD parts that will fit without severe modifications. Also would like to have hanging pedals conversion so will have to do research on this as well.
  5. I would really need only end pieces since center piece I already had restored.
  6. Mine are rusted through and rather than reparing them I would buy better ones. Dented or bad chrome is no problem Preferable in europe due to shipping.
  7. Driver or passenger side since I broke part that is same on each side. Preferable in europe due to shipping
  8. The cost of dechroming and new chrome job was around 500€ for what is on the photos. Still have bumpers, vent window frame, mask and some smaller pieces to finish the job so I would say aprox 1000€ for the mayority of car trim - but my work of straightening and some polisihing is excluded.
  9. Got majority of trim back from shop - I like the way it came out. Next on schedule bumpers and front mask which needed welding.
  10. Got majority of trim back from shop - I like the way it came out. Also restored e24 grill frame Next on schedule bumpers and front mask which needed welding.
  11. Rust repairs from the past in my case.
  12. Thank you! I am glad that I inspired you to resume work on your 02.
  13. The wait for body shops begins and now it the right time to start working on trim that was removed from the car. Will try to save and restore majority of parts. Waistline belt trim was bent on several places so we straighten it out before it goes to galavanize shop. Mask is also in bad shape but can be repaired nicely (we will see that). We took it apart and straighten what was bent. One slot fell off and few others are barely hanging. Grill, rear light frames, door handles were also taken apart

Inner side has several layers of paint applied so will have them sandblasted from inside before de-chroming. I got spare tank next to the car so I had both tanks sandblasted to see all the holes. The tank that was on the car was heavily repaired already so I will use bigger tank I think it will fit since measurements are the same except the volume.
