  1. Why are you parting that out? Seems like it wouldn’t take much to get that running again
  2. Well if you have it and want to sell it then please let me know!
  3. Hey, did you sell the dash? I’m interested in it if it’s available.
  4. Does anyone have a nice 3pc dash that they’d sell?
  5. You’re making really good progress! I don’t think there is a faster way unless you want to use something stronger like paint stripper. I liked the goo gone because it doesn’t evaporate. What I did was spray on the goo gone, then heat the glue with a heat gun until it was molten, and then scrape it off. The goo gone keeps the glue from hardening again after it cools. I had to do it patch by patch... it took hours and was brutal. Yep, I was so disappointed the rust I ended doing a bare metal restoration. It all started with me foolishly pulling up the old carpet!
  6. I think replacement is ultimately the most cost effective route if you don't have the ability to weld/repair it yourself.
  7. I would post a Want ad on this forum. I've had good luck with that for NLA items.
  8. Seeing the tar board clean up is giving me PTSD. I also used dry ice and it got me 80% complete. The question you have to ask yourself is whether you care about the underlying paint. If you do, be very careful about the solvents you use. The better it works, the more likely it will remove the paint. I just used a heat gun, goo gone, and a plastic scraper. These were my results.
  9. Got it! Well I just posted a want ad for a TII tray. If anyone has one, please let me know ?
  10. I'm looking for a TII battery tray - the type that bolts in. I don't care about paint condition as I plan to restore it.
  11. I'm doing a TII booster swap and I'm having issues with fitment. As you can see in the picture below, the booster/MC assembly is overlapping the battery tray. Does anyone have pointers on how to address the issue?
  12. I’m looking for the parts (tube and clamps) necessary to reproduce this look. If anyone has these parts, please let me know!
  13. I bought the IE kit. I haven't fitted them yet. This is how they look
  14. What are these black caps on the trunk hinge? I've never seen these before. Also the pinch weld is really different... not 2 segments like on the 02s
  15. I went through this recently. I took the part off the car. I carefully used shop towels, a plastic spudger, and acetone to clean up the old grease. Then I sprayed it through with Deoxit electircal cleaner. Works really well now!
  16. I hear ya on the family vs car situation. I'm racing to finish my car restoration before we have a child since I know cars wont be a priority for awhile. I'm hoping my car becomes an heirloom that can be passed down. I think its really cool that you are staying in the 2002 community and car hobby - that stuff has a big impression on kids. I was obsessed with cars when I was a kid because my dad took me to car shows, etc.
  17. About $2500. Its a one-off, custom thing so that has to be taken into consideration relative to the price.
  18. I apologize for the duplicate post if you've already seen this in the Discussion area. This is a follow-up to my previous post about electrical components. A few days ago, I received a very nicely packaged and documented harnesses in the correct colors and tape! My old connectors and grommets, if proprietary, were transferred over. The old harness was also returned as well. As for the price... this was the first 6-fuse 2002 harness they had made and it cost quite a bit. However, relative to the price of restoring a car, it wasn't too bad. Definitely worth it.
  19. I've seen a few threads about sourcing a new harness but I haven't seen anyone sharing what was delivered. My 1969 6-fuse harness was pretty cut up. I got a donor harness from a member on the FAQ but it was very brittle. I figured I would just have it remade. I emailed and called a few places (Autosparks, Wiring Works, etc). No one would touch my project. Finally, I tried Rhode Island Wiring, but they were pretty specific in that I need to fully document the harness before sending it to them. So, on to documentation. First I found the correct wiring diagrams (thank you to whoever posted this) Then I cleaned the harness with acetone and re-bundled it with zip ties. I used my wife's label maker to label the ends per the wiring diagram Then I sent off the harness and documentation to Rhode Island Wiring. 3 months later, I got this.... Very nicely packaged and documented harnesses in the correct colors and tape! They also sent back the original harness and connectors, if not used. I've since inspected the harness and its perfect. The grommets are in the right place as well. As for the price... this was the first 6-fuse 2002 harness they had made and it cost quite a bit. However, relative to the price of restoring a car, it wasn't too bad. Definitely worth it.
  20. Hmm, I thought by the diagram it was for the other side of the door? I definitely know about the felt channel for the quarter windows but this looked like something else because of the clamp piece.
  21. I could use some advice on parts #15 and #16. I'm apparently missing them (?). Does anyone have a picture of how they should be installed? Thanks, Shawn
