  1. Thanks for the feedback everyone! Definitely going to add a fire extinguisher to my list! Cheers
  2. Hey Guys, Thought I'd get some opinions regarding the below video. Started my 02 yesterday after a few weeks (probably 4-5) without being started/driven. The car kicked off first time (which was nice!), I then heard a whistling from the engine bay and there was a leak from the kugelfischer. Looking at positioning, i am thinking it's either a loose clamp/split line (fingers crossed) or an issue with the pressure maintenance valve... maybe a split o-ring? Just wanting to see if anyone else has had a similar issue? Thought i'd ask before getting it the mechanic. Thanks all, cheers. Dion IMG_3923.MOV
  3. Hey Guys, Wondering whether anyone has part #61311353364 for the ashtray frame on centre console? Cheers Dion
  4. *Update - here's an image of springs on the rear of my car. The code on the spring is 2001.001 - so it looks like the mechanic installed front springs on the rear of the car. Back springs should read 2001.002. this should be an easy swap, but my mechanic cut 1/2 a coil top lower front... good times!
  5. Thanks for the assistance/suggestions guys. I'll double check that the springs were installed correctly and look into the 3 dot rear pads. Cheers, Dion
  6. Hey Guys, Happy new year! I am keen to get some feedback on the best was remedy a rear ride height issue. I recently had some Eibach 1 inch lowering springs put on my 74 tii. Front is great, but the back has dropped a little too much (more than the 1 inch!) . I am experiencing a bit of rubbing in the wheel arch when driving through corners + the general camber of the rear is pointing inwards. Can I lift the rear without replacing the new springs? Would an upper rear spring pad (1 or 3 dot) help with his issue? Any other suggestions/quick fixes? FYI back shocks are Koni's. Cheers Dion
  7. Thanks Maarten - i'll have to confirm with the mechanic regarding leakage in the valve train/pistons rings... but he hasnt reported anything. Cold start is operational. Thanks Ray. All replaced...fuel tank cleaned and resealed, new fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel sender, fuel pickup screen etc. Thanks dlacey. We've been scratching our heads! Re: Ignition system, we have new coil, new 123 dizzy, leads, plugs (with bosch 008 distributor map as a base) and timing has been correct. I have managed to get a hold of another kugel pump locally to fit on the car and see if there is an improvement. Fingers crossed. Cheers all.
  8. Hey Mike, After taking the car for a spirited drive through the Hills (1+ hour), on the way back home (observing regular speeds) the car will just turn itself off with when entering a roundabout or slow turn (low revs). Warning lights come on, I can restart and away it goes again. This started to happen frequently. Hey dlacey, Thanks. All adjustments have made to the system... warm up regulator, throttle bottle, mixture screw etc using the kugel setup. Have to look at your suggestion. Hey Maarten, I believe the horizontal line is the air/fuel mixture. All timing is setup correctly.
  9. Hey Guys, I am keen to get some feedback regarding issues i am having with my kugelfischer and whether anyone else has had the same experience. A bit of back story - the car has recently had the fuel tank cleaned and resealed, new fuel lines, fuel pump, 123 dizzy, pump valves/tubes ultrasonically cleaned, new injection belt + some. The car is driving poorly in low rev range, like its being starved of fuel... see dyno image for peak/troughs. I have been advised that it could be an internal issue with the centrifugal fuel trim advance in the pump, but as there is no way to test this in Aus, i am a bit stuck apart from replacing the unit with refurbished one. Does this issue ring any bells for anyone? Or is it time to have this rebuilt/replaced? Thanks in advance, cheers. Dion
  10. Awesome, thanks guys. Appreciate the feedback!
  11. Hey Guys, Just wanted to get peoples thoughts on the following - still getting up to speed with fitment (have read through many threads on here). I have a 74 tii with 185/70 13 x 5 inch steelies (ET29) at the moment. I have the opportunity to purchase some 14 x 6.5 inch e30 basketweaves with 195/65 tires and ET30 fitment. (I thought i'd change the rubber to 195/60). Question – looking at a wheel comparison, will I need spacers to push the tire outwards and if so how big? Does anyone else run these on their tii's? Cheers & thank you! Dion
  12. Hey Simeon - I am based in Nailsworth... good to see a former Adelaidean on here! Thanks for the advice + cheers to everyone for the assistance.
  13. Mainly moving from gear into neutral - but could also be when braking... Thanks Steve. My guess is that it's been a long time since replacement! Recently i had the fuel pump updated - so will replace filters/screens/o-rings etc. As I am based in Aus, and there aren't many part suppliers - so will have to be a wallothnesch order. Is there anything else worth replacing in the fuel area whilst I am at it? Cheers all.
  14. Thanks dlacey - i'll look at this. Temp doesn't increase too much, just over centre position Twin key, so hopefully not! Thanks !
  15. Hello Everyone, I have 74 tii which for the most part drives and runs well.. though on the last few outings I have experienced a similar problem. After taking the car for a spirited drive through the Adelaide Hills (1+ hour), on the way back home (observing regular speeds) the car will just turn itself off with when entering a roundabout or slow turn (low revs). Warning lights come on, I can restart and away it goes again. This may happen a couple of time on the way home (25 min drive). It only seems to happen after I open her up. Is this potentially an issue with fuel delivery? Vacuum issue? Idle issue? Compression? Any assistance/direction would be great, thanks in advance. Dion
  16. Long time 2002 lurker from Adelaide, South Australia. Thought I'd share a gratuitous glamour shot of my tii!
