  1. Appreciate the link but I'm enjoying my fb free lifestyle right now Alan's name was one I saw come up as I did various searches. I left a msg with him yesterday explaining what I was trying to do. He just returned my call and spent ~30min on the phone with me even after I told him I would be doing this myself. He gave me some great pointers. I saw others say to avoid him too but he was extremely helpful, maybe just don't give him any $$?
  2. I picked up a trashed momo wheel for cheap recently. I was planning on re-leathering it but on closer inspection it looks like some of the foam material needs to be replaced too. Does anyone sell those? The wheel has thumb / palm rests so it isn't a single diameter all the way around.
  3. I am looking for a winter project on the 02, wiring is def up there. When trying to update the wiring system with a running car do people tend to use these prebuilt harnesses, rip all the old wiring out and fully replace it or go wire by wire, replacing each piece individually? Most rewiring projects I have seen are done when the car is essentially in a shell state. I have a ton of wiring issues but not in a place I am ready to pull everything out. Not sure the best way to attack it, any suggestions?
  4. Thanks I’ll check out Korman. Ive been told Toyota uses something similar too
  5. I emailed them ~ a week ago and haven't gotten a reply. I sent another email off to a different address right before making this thread, figured I'd try here too as they list some of their sway bars as out of stock. I believe it is the one with the blocks but it was installed by the PO and I didn't know to look for them when I was under the car. I'll have to check.
  6. I was under the car the other day and saw the driver’s side bolt holding my IE sway bay had sheared at the threads. I’m looking for another one to replace it. Here is a pic of the full one I have left. Any one have another laying around?
  7. It's not a Select Classics car. Given their history I understand associating them with this but it wasn't them. Thanks for verifying that I was already thinking. Glad it is repairable or seems to be. I'm going to ask a friend with some more 02 exp to take a look at it and hopefully recommend someone in the area.
  8. I got my car on a lift today to diagnose an oil leak and came across a rail replacement I never noticed. Welds look a bit sketch - I could use some advice on how to handle this. It is a. tube that runs down the length of one side of the car. Is this the normal way to fix a rusted out rail? Welds seems unsafe to me but maybe this is fine? Should I get the welds re-done? Do I need to replace pieces of the frame? The entire frame?
  9. Yesterday I was able to fix my blinkers (including the dashboard light!) & I got the added fog lights working again. I also secured both front seats down a bit better, there is less play when leaning back or getting in and out of the car.
  10. Smart move waiting on the purchase - I found another ventri for this setup the other day. No more lost parts act fast!
  11. Dual Dellorto DHLA-N 40 carburetors plus some extra bits. I have springs, jets, a ventri, various screws + washers, a few filters, and some pump rod pieces. I’ll also include the air filters and screws. Carbs are in good shape taken out of a working car. Looking for $650 for the whole shabang. I’m in Philly and would prefer someone close but I’ll ship at the buyer’s expense.
  12. This is the exact setup I have which sounds nothing like yours at all. Now I have a goal to shot for. V impressive!
  13. I added a small plate which attaches to the tab used to hold the console in place
  14. I’m looking for a door handle w/ locking mechanism, any left?
  15. Installed two USB charging ports and did some work on my broken locks. Fixed one, found a broken tumbler on the other. Knock one thing off the list and already adding another...
  16. Looking for a door lock tumbler. I don't need the entire handle assembly but will take that if no one has the bare tumbler. I'm in Philly and will drive to anyone nearby.
  17. Most of his was done by the PO, it isn’t totally my style but I do like the minamializim. Also I just finished installing two hidden USB charging ports. Now the iPad won’t die after 10 min of GPS tracking.
  18. I went a different direction. Left the console out and installed an arm to hold an iPad. A full sized iPad fills the space nicely. When I remove the iPad I can push the arm back and have a nice open area below the dash. I haven’t installed speakers yet but plan on putting one or two Bluetooth speakers in (no headunit). Here is a pic of my first test fitting with an iPad mini.
  19. Bumping an old thread... Has anyone one else using this kit had troubles getting the posts on to the main bar? One of the posts I can only bar about half way through the post (~5mm) the other I can get on but it only goes ~1cm before jamming. Before I start hammering or heating I wanted to see if anyone has any hot tips.
  20. Installed new Weber 40 DCOEs this weekend. Needs some tuning but in generally running much better. Followed up with a meetup-n-cruise, surprisingly kept up with much newer, much faster cars.
  21. Zip tie to the rescue. Made a loose loop with the zip tie, stuck it down between the glass and seal, got it around the interior button, carefully pulled it tight to close the loop on the button and pulled up. Success! And now I have a new task on the list this weekend.
