  1. Hey Guys, i started this thread and want to report good news. what i did was turn the castellated nut upside down, threaded down til almost flush with stud. took oxy/ace welding torch and put heat on the surrounding area for about 45sec. took a long steel bar approaching from the top with 3lbs sledge hammer. Bamm!! Worked like a charm.
  2. Thank you. i have that type puller, but the opening at max is still too small to get over the joint. also, the bottom of the joint is not FLAT, that's where the problem comes in, nothing to grab on. the pickle fork, rented from pepboys with various sizes but, the fork tangs themselves are too thick to get in between the joint and the control arm, too even get it started. i'm heading for oxy/ace torch and more persuasion muscle. thanks people.
  3. I have a 1973 2002 and trying to remove the ball joint. I have a few pullers, but none fit. nothing to grab onto to break it free. i have used a persuasion hammer, but to no avail. Next will be some heat and more pounding. any other suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.
