  1. OK. I kind of screwed up this post. As you can see there are repeats in photos above. The driver side is missing the bushing. That's what I'm looking for. The bushing that fits over this shaft.
  2. After painting the car i lost the driver side wiper on the road. (long story) which led me to get two new wiper assemblies from bluntech which the splines do not match. I have looked all through the oem parts and am just not finding what these guys are or even called. I still have one installed but it doesn't fit the wiper either. how do i find these?IMG_8050.HEICIMG_8051.HEICIMG_8052.HEICIMG_8053.HEIC
  3. Good day gents, I have looked and looked on Wallothnesch and rogers tii for this part and cant come up with anything. It's the support for the rear seat. Mine is pretty trashed. I would attempt to rebuild but its super thin metal. Is there any alternitaves for this part or does anyone know where i can find it? Zoom Catalog picture 41/02 Sort by Name Price Position no. 4. I got the spring from Jim thanks. It's so nice to have a working speedo.. I then put it on jack stands and going deep on all four floor pans ?
  5. I think were on the same page! Stripped the interior last night and took off the doors thinking "will i ever get these back on" besides the rust (which is going to be my biggest hurdle thus far) I feel the car will be in good standing. Then will start prepping for paint!
  6. Oh wait.. “yeah hunny I’m only 7k in right now” 30k goes unaccounted for
  7. UPDATE: I just ordered all 4 floor pans from wallothnesch for $300 shipped. It was twice that through american suppliers so I feel i'm off to a pretty good start with the budget thing.?
  8. this is basically the style i'm going for. Very nice chargin!
  9. The previous owner actually did me some favors like priming the rust spots and screwing up the timing and electrical system so it didn't run for two years. Now she runs pretty good. Currently rebuilding the weber carb and just put a pertronix onboard. I thought about going ahead and swapping motor/trans but I think I really fell in love with the m10. Resilient lil motor! Id love to see what she's got with a turbo strapped to it but i can't put the horse in front of the cart. Gotta get the body/ interior sound.
  10. Thank you all for the input. So cool to hear everyone’s $.02 I’ve seen quite a few resto’s go down including my brothers 61’ Chevy truck that has been restored 3 times now and a Porsche 356 that’s still not on the road. The 02’ is my first and am excited to see how it all plays out. I guess it’s time to put on my big boy pants and rip the floors out and check out the mechanical side which seems pretty par for a 76. Space/time/money and two kids are my biggest enemy. cheers guys!!

  12. Kinda a odd ball question because all the 02's out there are in such different states, but i'm curious what your beginning budget was and what it ended up being. The blood sweat and tears are priceless I know. I'm just getting knee deep in my resto and trying desperately not to rip it all the way down and go ground up. I want to enjoy this sweet car as I rebuild but the picture is becoming more and more clear that she may need way more attention than I previously thought! so far here is what i need to do vs what i want to do! needs -floor pans then carpet $500 -blower motor $100 -seat belts $100 -suspension (this falls under both but does have a front seized strut) $1000 -motor mounts $100 -oil leak fix...oil pan gasket? -sunroof rebuild -new instrument cluster since i fried it trying new lights -paint $??? wants front air dam and new bumpers $1000 stage one racing suspension aftermarket turbo $1000-2000 (if end up rebuilding motor) a awesome paint job! (gonna go back to the original grey) wheels and tires $1500 This is a off the cuff price for what i need and was thinking in the 5-k range without paint? I am doing the work myself except for paint. Take it easy on me fellas for i am at work multi tasking between work and play! Again, I am curious on your first budget and perhaps any pointers to start with!
  13. Looking for the tiny spring that brings the needle back down on a 76' cluster. Any one know a guy who knows a guy? thanks in advance!
  14. After investigating last night I did find the said spring. I’m 98% sure it’s broken and has been this whole time. The reason I got into the fix was because it would wind all the way back to the starting pin and stay there until I put in reverse. Thanks so much for your help. I’m now on the search for the spring ?
  15. Thanks funkylaneo. - did not take the needle off - I can’t find any feeling of a internal spring. Is that within the cast weighted wheel? -watched your video and seems exactly what I did except spraying lube on moving parts since I’m breaking it down a few times. -Haven’t taken the cast wheel apart yet. As always big thanks for your help!
  16. So I've been trying to get my speedometer working and ran across this link. https://www.02restoration.com/restoration-tips/instruments/bmw-2002-speedometer-repair-1972-1976/ Seems legit so I went for it. Everything went well but his words at the end are something like when you re assemble you should be able to spin the reassembled speedometer shaft (at instrument cluster) and the needle will go up to 10-20 mph and return quickly. Mine just sits and stays wherever I bump it to. anyone been through it before??
  17. Thanks for the help guys! I messaged @bluedevils to see whats in store.
  18. I have been scouring ebay to find new seat belts for my 76' and there is alot of trash and some that look decent. Anyone have any tips? Seems like they are pretty universal but I remember a "peg" coming off the chassis of the old belts that fit into the frame of the car. heres the ones I'm looking at but no "peg" Of course, price is a factor. Can't seem to pay $85+ for originals! https://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-3-Point-Retractable-Adjustable-Safety-Seat-Lap-Belts-Harness-Kit-for-Car-Van/232878243696?fits=Year%3A1976|Make%3ABMW|Model%3A2002|Submodel%3ABase|Engine+-+Liter_Display%3A2.0L|Trim%3ABase+Coupe+2-Door|Engine%3A2.0L+1990CC+121Cu.+In.+l4+GAS+SOHC+Naturally+Aspirated&epid=8021092400&hash=item36389fff70:g:9I4AAOSwVuFbaeti thanks in advance!
  19. well turns out it was a bad ground from terminal to block. Got fresh points and wires in the meantime along with some great learning experience! I think i burned up the heater fan too but that's not near as bad as it not running. Cheers! thanks for your help guys
