    In 5 years $5,000 will seem cheap. Enter with your eyes open and know it'll be a project that will take time and money. Most (if not all) parts can be sourced. Do you have a committed space to complete the car ? Projects always takes longer than expected....and sometimes they sit for extended periods. On the East coast basket cases start at around $2,000...we'd kill for a rust free project ! Good luck...sometimes you just have to go for it.

    Not sure what you mean by "just included a sales tax payment for what they actually paid" but in Vermont there's no way around paying sales tax on blue book value (or whatever book they use). Vermont does not issue titles on vehicles over 15 years old. When you sell a vehicle, the registration is signed over (transferable registration) Good luck.

    @Ensign...yes it's Inka @jp5Touring...No sunroof. The auction house may provide more info. I brought it up from North Carolina. Solid car. I don't want to get too involved. The guy I sold it to is a stand up car guy.

    The dif might have a small metal tag attached to the cover plate...it will have the ratio stamped on it if it's there.

    I bought a 320i that DID have a LSD. Its easy to check...jack it up and spin the wheels...
