  1. Bilsteins exhibit digressive damping, they start out with tons of compression damping. the damping decreases with speed of the shock movement. Koni's I believe are linear. Digressive damping, a characteristic of race shocks, is good for control at higher loads, and especially at speed, but not so good for ride comfort (i.e. you feel every bump). ie digressive curves suck for normal street use imho. i knew this fact 30 years ago when i put a set of HD's on my 2002. back roads were miserable
  2. multiple 10mm wrenches and sockets
  3. Strangely to me all newer BMW "shapes" starting with E90's resemble a dog hunched over pinching a loaf
  4. i also went for Sisel mats over Coco. I like the tighter weave and they're very durable. I think they look classier than Coco ....Offered by Coco.mats. com. They have few different fibre mats to choose from besides Coco. Check out their online catalog
  5. I tried a few fancy 3M adhesives last summer. Nothing worked very well. Finally I broke out the most expensive extreme CLEAR SILICONE'. Now they're rock solid. Worth the extra few $$
  6. I believe I said Ray, irdave...... AND some of the most respected members *Marshall has a new screen name? The same guy who posts the cool race videos?..red 02?
  7. So if you don't take your appx. 200 hp car to the track your an ediot? and yes you did shame alot of M2 members in an indirect way. The % of M2 owners who don't go to the track has to be significantly higher than ones that do. I'd guess its 90% don't and 10% do. the world is not all about racing.
  8. uhh..really? its a lighter BMW chassis that is tossable...engine bolts right up....turns a dog into a cheetah.. those are all terrible ideas!...l o l You've just shamed RAY, irdave'... some of the most respected members you need to esplain' yourself Lucy when you toss bombs like that out
  9. i was just playing the bidding game like the last BAT 02 we all 'guessed' on.

  13. It's the yearly Pollen storms! I live in the mountains and every spring were inundated with violent yellow pollen storms. It's terrifying if you own a dark colored car!!!.
  14. your Malaga tii is what my 73 Malaga tii aspires to be...awesome. Too bad the mean and selfish owner (me) is planning on stripping her and painting her Chamonix
  15. It does beg the question> where is the rest of the car..... and how bad was it that you'd sacrifice such a nice rear clip?
  16. Storm of 97/98 Tahoe.. Me performing a snow load test on my late model tii "Beatta". It snowed 3 1/5 feet over night December 21st. I managed to get it all off before the roof caved'
  17. circa '89. the local Fire Chief rammed into me doing 35 as i was at a dead stop in Tahoe City "rush hour" traffic. The impact ripped me and the whole drivers seat/seat belt out of the floor and part of the way thru the back window. I was coming back from the store with a couple steaks for my Mom and I.....who had just popped in for the weekend.....The last thing I remember was looking in my rear view to see the 'Chief coming at me in a 3/4 ton truck and he was looking DOWN!!!. He never hit his brakes...just B A M! Pushed my car over 30 ft ahead and I barely missed the car in front. The whole incident cost the 'Chiefs' insurance company over 1/2 million bux total> for a cash settlement, my car, hospital/emergency room bills, physical therapy for a year.. then Chiro' for another 2 years
  18. those are some stellar body lines on that 1600

  20. 2 condensors...2 fans and a huge inside unit....your set up looks like it's gonna be colder than Ray's sub zero' Arctic AC dryer in the headlight recess...genius like
  21. Ocean Pacific shorty shorts ftw in the 70's haha.
  22. i agree. for the right price it would be a good starting point despite having to go through the entire car haha. i lost my mind there for a second...damn BMW White..... Alas somebody on BAT is going to willingly throw down serious $krilla for this car just 'cause it's pretty
  23. the details do suck. rethinking now if I owned it... I'd pull both subframes and blast the underside clean so it can be done right.. pull the motor and refresh. hell I'd just pull the entire drive train haha ...a do over on the front air dam. I'd sh*tcan that thing... just chuck it and use a normal piece. maybe I don't like it as much now...it's the Covid...I can't think straight cooped up
