Bought this car a few weeks ago from a guy working at a Porche shop in HB California. He didn't seem to know much about the car and neither did I as I'm just getting my toes wet in NK ownership. I'd like to try and track down the owner before him if possible and try to locate some of the missing parts from the car. There is an invoice pictured in the BAT listing for a James Williams in 2000, maybe it was him?
Car was sold on BAT in 2015.
1965 BMW 1800TI
BRINGATRAILER.COM
Bid for the chance to own a 1965 BMW 1800TI at auction with Bring a Trailer, the home of the best vintage and classic cars online. Lot #658.
Since the BAT sale the car has been stripped for restoration. The paint job was done with apparently zero rust repair so now the rust is coming through the paint on the bottom of all the doors and in the roof, floorboards, bottom of the nose panel, etc. The motor has been replaced by a 2.0L w/ Weber 45's mated to a getrag 245. Suspension is all redone and new with 2002 front subframe, E9 rear subframe with side-loader diff.
Most notably I'm missing door cards, front and rear emblems, brake booster, wood on the dash, owners manual, and a few other things. If anybody has these parts or the ones listed above, I'm all ears.
Also looking for a nicer set of turn signals and taillights, speedometer in MPH.
