  1. Thanks for all the replies, I might try and jerry-rig a different type of seal like you suggested, that is until I can get some oem seals. I am at the end of my project and the door seals are quite honestly the hardest thing I've had to install on the car.
  2. I am looking for some oem door seals as I have tried using an older set of URO seals and the rubber is too hard, and my doors wont close properly. I heard somewhere a while back that URO was changing their seals to be softer but I cant find any information about it. Has anyone had any luck using newer URO door seals?
  3. Interested in taillights, euro turn signals, and OEM door seals if still available
  4. Thanks for all the replies. @TobyB I think you are right about the e12 head being different from an e21. It should work hopefully.
  5. Help! I have a 1973 distributor from my original engine which and I intended on using for my replacement engine. The problem is this new engine has a 1984 head which has high compression piano top pistons mated to a 1974 engine block. From my previous research they say that the distributor/camshaft in the 1980-1984 models of M10 to turn in the opposite direction, thus making the original distributor unusable. I just want to confirm if anybody has had this issue before, what the reason being would be because it does not make a lot of sense. Why would bmw do this? Anyways if that is the case I am looking for a 1980-1984 distributor off an e21 if anyone has one lying around. Any help would be appreciated! Here is a couple photos of the cam and engine
  6. I went back and looked at the casting date on my block and it does in fact say 1J76.
  7. According to the Haynes manual it is a transmission support bracket but I have not been able to find much information about it and whether or not it is very necessary. It sounds like it was probably on early blocks and then they removed them maybe in 1974 and up perhaps? Anyways my block casting looks like this, not sure the date on it.
  8. There is a chance my block is actually from an e21. It was my understanding that it was from a 2002 but if thats the case you may be correct.
  9. The engine blocks vin has been ground off so I can not say whether its a tii or a base engine block. This engine I got is actually somewhat a combination of parts including high compression pistons and a 1984 head from a later model m10. The build of my engine from what i read only works this way using an early (2002) block with a late model head (e21).
  10. So as I was putting together my engine I noticed that the place where this transmission support bracket goes has no holes drilled in the block. The engine block i'm using is a 1974 as opposed to my original 1973 car which I pulled the bracket off from. I could not find any information anywhere regarding this problem so I thought id come to the forum. Seems weird the engine block I have would not have those holes.
